Snowshoeing
We meet at 10am at the gîte in Arvieux, a charming village nestling in the heart of the mountains. On arrival, we'll take the time to get to know the other members of the group and make ourselves comfortable.
After a detailed briefing from our guide, we'll set off to conquer the neighbouring summit of Queyron. The hike begins in the heart of a spruce forest. The hike then takes us through secluded mountain pastures, offering spectacular views of the surrounding valley.
On reaching the summit of the Queyron, perched at an altitude of 1982 metres, we'll take a moment to contemplate the breathtaking panorama of the Queyras combe.
At the end of the day, we return to the gîte for a convivial meal. The evening will be spent reading a good book, playing cards or simply enjoying a well-earned night's rest.
After a delicious breakfast at the gîte, we'll set off for a day exploring the magnificent chalets of Clapeyto, traditional Queyras mountain chalets perched at an altitude of over 2200 metres.
Our hike will take us to the Pré-Premier plateau, where we'll have the impression of being alone in the world, surrounded by the white immensity of the snow. The few old larch cottages standing out against the horizon will add a picturesque touch to this striking landscape.
Throughout our walk, we'll enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, a real feast for the eyes.
After taking time to explore and soak up the tranquillity of the Clapeyto chalets, we'll make our way back down to the gîte. The day will end with a convivial dinner followed by an evening of relaxation.
Today's destination is the chapel of Saint-Simon, high above Molines. This hike offers magnificent panoramic views of the surrounding valleys.
We'll also have the chance to climb the Bucher summit (2254m) for a 360° view of the Ecrins massif and the Arvieux valley.
After a day full of discoveries, we return to the gîte for the night.
After breakfast at the gîte, we'll set off in the direction of Europe's highest village, Saint Véran.
The day's objective will be the Curlet cross and ridges (2400m), a great snowshoeing classic. We'll enjoy an exceptional panorama of the Vallée de l'Aigue Blanche, with breathtaking scenery guaranteed.
Return to the gîte at the end of the day for a convivial evening meal.
On this final day, we'll follow the banks of the Guil from Aiguilles. This varied hike will take us through white meadows and deep woods, allowing us to enjoy the banks of this emblematic river of the massif. We'll finish our expedition at around midday in the late morning, with unforgettable memories of this adventure in the magical Queyras landscape.
