We'll meet you at the hotel at the end of the afternoon to put your things down and meet the group. This is also an opportunity to have a short briefing on the adventure ahead and to check together the equipment you'll need for the next few days. Take the time to settle in, enjoy the comfort of the hotel and get to know the other participants.

Our first day of ski touring takes us to the unguarded refuge, perched at 2,385 metres. The climb is gradual and the landscape opens up at every turn, giving you that unique feeling of being far from everything. As we gain altitude, nature becomes wilder and wilder and the feeling of total disconnection sets in.

After about 4 hours of climbing, we arrive at the isolated, rustic refuge where we'll spend the night. Here, far from civilisation, we take the time to get organised: we fetch snow to melt, chop wood for the stove, and everyone pitches in to prepare for the evening. Around the fire, we enjoy this suspended moment, alone in the world with our little group.

After a hearty breakfast, we set off to explore the slopes below Pointe de la Réchasse. Today, we're pushing our limits a little further with 6 hours of ski touring. The descents in the immaculate snow offer moments of adrenalin and pure freedom.

At midday, we take a lunch break in the open air, surrounded by these wild landscapes. We return to the refuge at the end of the day. Once again this evening, we're enjoying the warmth of the stove, the peace and quiet of the surroundings and the chats around the fire. Everyone contributes to the life of the group and this feeling of autonomy far from the world makes this evening a unique moment.

For our final day, we head for the Pointe de Lanserlia, an emblematic peak in the region at 2,909 metres. The ascent is gradual and the view from the summit is worth every effort: an exceptional panorama of the Vanoise National Park.

After enjoying the summit, we embark on a magnificent descent to Termignon. This descent marks the end of our ski touring adventure. We meet up again for a final debriefing and goodbye after three days of adventure in the great outdoors.

The guide's supervision: During these 3 days, an experienced guide will make sure you progress while sharing his expertise with passion.
Accommodation: You will spend your first night in a hotel and the following 2 nights in an unguarded, isolated refuge in the heart of nature. It's a simple, authentic place, perfect for disconnecting and fully experiencing the adventure with your small group.
Catering: All your meals are included in the price of the expedition, from dinner on the first evening to the last picnic.
Safety equipment: A safety kit (avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe) is provided by your guide.

What equipment do we need?

Once your registration has been confirmed, we'll send you a personalised roadbook for your trip containing all the practical information you need, including a list of equipment you'll need to take.

What do I do if I need to hire ski touring equipment?

If you don't have your own ski touring equipment (touring skis, skins, knives, poles), we can hire it for you: all you have to do is pick it up from the local shop with your guide on the first day of the expedition.

How big is the group?

For this expedition, we prefer a group of no more than 6 people so that your guides have time to concentrate on each of you.

How comfortable is the unguarded refuge?

The refuge offers a certain level of comfort: you will sleep in a single bed in a room shared with the other participants. Blankets are provided, but it is advisable to bring a sleeping bag for reasons of hygiene.

Are there showers and toilets in the unguarded refuge?

When the refuge is unguarded, there are no showers... but there are toilets for minimum comfort! And between you and me, washing becomes a little less important when you're at an altitude of 2300 m, surrounded by glaciers and magnificent peaks, doesn't it? 😉 On the other hand, you have everything you need to live comfortably: a stove that works well, wood and gas, a non-sac room with cooking utensils, and even a pot to melt the snow! This refuge is like a perfect base camp, with breathtaking views of the Vanoise glaciers, Grande Casse and many other gems. A real haven of peace in the heart of nature!

⛈ What happens if the metreo is wrong?

If the weather is bad but does not represent a danger to participants during the expedition, the activity will continue. If the weather becomes dangerous, the activity will be cancelled and replaced by an alternative offered by our professional guides.

What is included in the price of a DiscoveRent shipment?
