DAY 1 / 3
Accommodation
Gîte
D+
550m
Distance
18km

We'll meet at 10 a.m. at the Col de la Faucille, where we'll meet the participants and brief the guide.

On your first day, you'll be exploring the Haut-Jura mountain range. The trail begins on a balcony, offering, weather permitting, an unobstructed view of Lake Geneva and the Alps. The terrain is gentle but very present, perfect for a gradual introduction to roaming.

Enjoy a picnic on the ridge, a quiet spot where birds of prey are often seen in flight. The stage then continues downhill towards Lélex, then into the Valserine valley to reach the gîte where you spend the night.

DAY 2 / 3
Accommodation
Gîte
D+
500m
Distance
12km

After breakfast at the gîte, you leave the Valserine valley and head up the opposite side. The gradual climb takes you up to the Hautes-Combes, a typical Jura area of open high meadows and quiet forests.

This day, shorter than the day before, gives you time to catch your breath. On the way, you'll pass through Jura forests renowned for their biodiversity: the guide will help you spot some local tree species and, with a bit of luck, animal tracks.

At the end of the afternoon, you'll arrive at an isolated gîte in the heart of a small combe, a simple and peaceful place, ideal for enjoying a gentle late afternoon.

DAY 3 / 3
D+
500m
Distance
15km

This morning, you'll be enjoying an original experience: cani-hiking with Jérémy, a professional musher, giving you the chance to discover a different, more dynamic and particularly fun way of walking.

To make this activity enjoyable for everyone, your gear will be transported in a vehicle and you'll be walking light all morning.

At the end of the morning, you'll reach the Borne au Lion, a remarkable viewpoint and a place steeped in history. The guide will explain the importance of this marker in the historical demarcation of the area.

In the afternoon, you continue the stage without the dogs to climb the Crêt de Chalam, the emblematic summit of the southern Jura. The climb is gradual, and the panoramic view from the summit gives you a bird's eye view of the whole massif.

The hike ends at La Pesse, where a taxi will be waiting at 3pm to take you back to the cars (approx. 35 minutes' drive).

Frequently asked questions

Can children take part in this expedition?

Children accompanied by an adult are welcome.

What equipment should we take with us?

Once your registration has been confirmed, we'll send you a full list of the equipment you'll need. Bear in mind that you'll be sleeping in comfortable stopover gîtes every night, so all you'll need is a rucksack with the bare essentials [clothes, sun cream, sunglasses, maps, etc].

Are dogs allowed on this expedition?

Despite our immense love of dogs at Wildhartt, they are not welcome in the area where we are leading this expedition.

Are you organising a bagpack service?

No, you will be self-sufficient throughout the expedition. However, your rucksack should weigh between 5 and 7 kg maximum, as you will be sleeping in comfortable gîtes where blankets, pillows and sheets will be provided.

What if I can't get to the meeting point by 10am?

It is possible to take out an option to arrive the day before departure and spend the night at the gîte. You can select this option at the next stage of the booking process.

Are instalment payment options available?

Yes, that's right! At checkout, you can choose the Alma option to pay for your booking in 2x, 3x or 4x. All you have to do is select Alma at checkout and follow the instructions. It's simple, fast and secure.

Can I privatise this expedition for my group?

Yes, all our expeditions can be privatised for a group already formed, on the dates of your choice.

To make your request, go to the expedition that interests you and click on "Privatise the expedition". We'll take care of the rest!

What does the price of a Wildhartt adventure include?

At Wildhartt, transparency is essential. The price of your expedition reflects a clear breakdown of costs:

  • 30% for our guides, the mainstays of every adventure.
  • 35% for accommodation and meals, essential for your comfort.
  • 10% for equipment and transport, to guarantee safety and fluidity.
  • 25% for organisation and logistics, from first contact to the end of the expedition.

Our priority: to offer you a quality experience, with complete clarity.

Do you have any questions? Contact us.

What happens if the weather is bad?

At Wildhartt, nature is our playground, rain or shine. Rain, snow or wind: our guides adapt the itinerary, activities and accommodation to guarantee you the best possible experience.
Unless safety is at stake (storm, avalanche, flood...).

In this exceptional case, we can cancel an expedition, at least one week before departure.
If this happens:
→ You can postpone your adventure at no cost,
→ Or receive a full refund.

What kind of people usually join Wildhartt expeditions ?

You don’t need to be a top athlete or mountain expert to feel at home. Most Wildhartt participants are between 25 and 60 years old, with a balanced mix of women and men.

Many join solo or in small groups of two or three. They often live in cities and are looking for a meaningful brea some time to reconnect with nature, slow down, and enjoy something real.

They usually have a regular movement practice (hiking, running, yoga...), but not with a competitive mindset. They’re in good shape, but don’t necessarily have technical skills. What brings them together is a shared desire to disconnect, observe, learn, and experience nature in a more grounded, accessible way.

If that speaks to you, you'll feel right at home. The group spirit is kind and open, and the pace adapts to everyone.
