Can't decide between hiking and drinking a beer? Well, we've got just the thing for you: the beer hike!
The hike
This beer hike is in Bellevaux, near Malmédy, in the Cantons de l'Est. It follows an 8.8 km loop route that takes you up to the legendary Rocher de Falize (pictured above), for an exceptional view of the Warche valley and surrounding forests.
"Beer hike in Bellevaux
To discover this walk, you need to follow the itinerary in the "Randos bière en Belgique " guidebook. The concept of the book is simple, but rather refreshing: discover Belgium with superb walking routes, which pass by a must-see brewery. And after all that effort, there's comfort in the discovery of a beer at the end of the route. Isn't that great? We chose the Bellevaux beer trail, but you'll see that there are many others!
The Bellevaux brewery
In the heart of the village, the brewery along the route is none other than the Brasserie de Bellevaux , a family-run microbrewery that is a must in the region and renowned for its five delicious beers: blonde, brown, black, white and triple. Just the thing to round off this beer tour! And if you're as lucky as we are, it'll even be on a terrace in glorious sunshine.
