The 4-season tent
The 4-season tent is not designed for zoning out for a few days in Dour, or for hiking in Italy in the middle of summer.
More robust and designed for winter, the 4-season tent will protect you against snow, strong winds and sub-zero temperatures.
In contrast, "classic" tents are 3-season tents. Lightweight and breathable, they protect you from light winds and rain.
4-season tents have double walls that keep the heat inside the tent. The materials are more resistant but also heavier than those of 3-season tents. The awnings go all the way down to the ground, preventing any rain or snow from seeping in. 4-season tents often have a special design to prevent snow from accumulating.
So this is the tent for you if you're going somewhere cold, planning a winter outing in the snow or going on a high-altitude expedition.
