In the evening we share a meal and enjoy a relaxed friendly atmosphere at the lodge as we unwind and talk about the day.

A rich educational museum is available, as well as an observation terrace with long views and panoramic views, and a projection room.

The rest of the day will be a half-day hike to discover the famous Vases des Gorges de la Jonte circuit. These monoliths are incredible geological curiosities suspended above the gorges, the two most imposing being the Vase de Chine and the Vase de Sèvre.

In the evening, we share a warm meal and enjoy a friendly atmosphere at the lodge, taking time to reflect on the day and strengthen group bonds.

Frequently asked questions

What birds will we be watching?

Mainly the great birds of prey that are emblematic of the Gorges du Tarn: the griffon vulture, the black vulture, sometimes the Egyptian vulture and, with a bit of luck, the bearded vulture. You can also spot local species such as the short-toed eagle, the peregrine falcon and the tichodrome échelette on the cliffs.

How difficult is this expedition?

You'll be walking for around 5 hours a day, with an Ascent of around 500 m, on a variety of paths that are sometimes aerial or technical. The route is safe and you will be accompanied by an experienced guide who will support you on the trickier sections. No complete autonomy is required, and there is no heavy carrying. If you're not afraid of heights and are comfortable with slightly exposed paths, you'll be perfectly at ease to enjoy this immersive adventure in the heart of the Gorges du Tarn et de la Jonte.

What type of accommodation is planned for the expedition?

You’ll spend two nights in each of the two cosy lodges, in shared accommodation. One offers rooms for 2 to 3 people with single or double beds, the other is a shared dormitory for the whole group. It’s the perfect opportunity to rest after a full day and connect with fellow nature lovers.

How are the transfers during the stay?

Trips are carpooling between participants. The guide has a vehicle that can accommodate up to 3 people, but other cars will be needed on site. Every day, we will need vehicles to reach the starting points of hikes and accommodations. Participants with a car will be asked to inform in advance, so that travel arrangements can be made. The cost of car-sharing (gasoline, mileage etc.) is estimated at approximately 40–50€ per vehicle for the entire stay, to be divided among the passengers.

Are instalment payment options available?

Yes, that's right! At checkout, you can choose the Alma option to pay for your booking in 2x, 3x or 4x. All you have to do is select Alma at checkout and follow the instructions. It's simple, fast and secure.

Can I privatise this expedition for my group?

Yes, all our expeditions can be privatised for a group already formed, on the dates of your choice.

To make your request, go to the expedition that interests you and click on "Privatise the expedition". We'll take care of the rest!
