Accommodation
Mountain hut

1356 m
Activity time
6h

We meet at 8am in Zinal to get to know our guide and make any final adjustments to our equipment. We then begin the ascent to the Arpitettaz hut, following an initially gentle path through the Val d'Anniviers mountain pastures.

The route runs alongside the River Navizence, then rises to the Pas du Chasseur, a section equipped with a cable (via ferrata) requiring agility and concentration, perfect for getting to grips with mountain supports.

After this fun section, the climb continues via the Zinal waterfall, where a break is in order. The terrain becomes more mineral as we approach Lac d'Arpitettaz, and it's in a high mountain atmosphere that we finally reach our Mountain hut, isolated opposite the Blanc de Moming glaciers. Settle in, rest up and enjoy a mountain-style dinner to help you recover.

DAY 2 / 3

Activity time

After waking up early in the Mountain hut and eating a hearty breakfast, we set off to climb the Pointe d'Arpitettaz via the Col du Millon. Progress along the ridge is easy and gives us a good introduction to rock climbing techniques. It's a great opportunity to hone our skills on unstable ground.

After a stop at the summit, we descend to the Col du Millon before embarking on a long traverse to the Cabane de Tracuit. This steady climb includes a few roped sections between the rocks, before leading to a spectacular plateau.

The Tracuit hut is one of the most spectacular in the Swiss Alps: modern and comfortable, it is perched at an altitude of 3,256 metres, with breathtaking views of the Dent Blanche, the Weisshorn and the Zinalrothorn. A restful afternoon awaits us, before we make our final preparations for the ascent of the Bishorn the following day.
DAY 3 / 3

898 m
Activity time
10 h
We wake up very early at 4am. After a quick breakfast, we leave the Mountain hut by headlamp, crampons on, to begin the traverse of the Turtmann glacier.

In the magical atmosphere of dawn, we make our way as a roped party through a maze of crevasses, with the Weisshorn and the other peaks of the Imperial Crown towering majestically above us. The slope gradually rises until we reach the summit ridge of the Bishorn.

After climbing for around 4-5 hours, we finally reach the summit at 4,153 metres. The panorama is breathtaking: all around us is a sea of glaciers and mythical peaks.

After a well-earned break, we start our descent by the same route. We return to the Mountain hut for a short break before continuing the long descent to Zinal.
