We meet at 9.30am at the Matterhorn Terminal in Täsch for a briefing and equipment check-up. After this introduction, we'll take the train to Zermatt, then a gondola to gain altitude. Once at the top, we'll have a warm-up on the ski slopes.

In the early afternoon, we leave the slopes and ski tour across the Breithorn plateau (3800m) to reach the Teodulo hut, perched at 3300m, where we'll spend the night.

This first day is the perfect opportunity to acclimatise gently while enjoying the panoramic views of the Matterhorn and the surrounding peaks.

On this second day, we begin our ascent of the Breithorn, a classic summit at over 4,000m offering breathtaking views of the Mont Rose massif.

We then descend to the Breithorn glacier before putting our skins back on to reach the Gorner pass. After a short break at the summit, we enjoy a memorable descent to the Valle d'Ayas guide hut. This evening, a typical Italian meal awaits us in a warm atmosphere.

DAY 3 / 6

Refuge

We start the day with a 1,500-metre descent on the Schwarztor glacier: a glacier that is as impressive as it is technical, and we'll be keeping a close eye on it.

After a break to admire the scenery, we begin the ascent to the Cabane Monte Rosa. The glacier offers technical sections and exceptional views of Monte Rosa.

Once at the hut, we enjoy a dinner prepared by the wardens and take in the unique atmosphere of this high-altitude setting.

After an early start, we climb either Pointe Parrot (4434m) or Pyramide Vincent (4215m), two emblematic peaks in the Mont Rose massif.

From the summit we have a clear view of the neighbouring peaks of the Zumsteinspitze, the Pointe Gnifetti and the Dufourspitze. The climb offers a good balance between technical effort and magnificent scenery. The pleasant descent allows us to enjoy ourselves before arriving at the Citta di Mantova refuge.

DAY 5 / 6
Accommodation
Mountain hut
D+
1600m

Today we'll be climbing one or more 4000 metre peaks, depending on our fitness and what we've climbed the day before. We'll set off for the Punta Gnifetti (4554 m), the Zumsteinspitze (4563 m), or the Pyramide Vincent (4215 m), depending on our physical condition and the weather conditions.

DAY 6 / 6
D+
1100m
From the Monte Rosa Mountain hut, we return to Zermatt. There are two routes available to us, depending on the conditions:

Option 1: Descent of the Gornergletscher (if practicable)
We embark on a spectacular descent of the Gorner glacier, in an imposing high mountain setting.

Option 2: Return via the Stockhorn pass (if the gorges are impassable)
From Monte Rosa, we climb around 600m D+ in the direction of Saaser Licka, before reaching the Stockhorn pass (3,421 m). This pass offers breathtaking views of the Matterhorn and the surrounding peaks. We then switch to the Riffelalp (2,211 m), where the final descent gradually takes us back to Zermatt.

Passionate about the mountains, I discovered climbing in the Bouches-du-Rhône before diving into ski touring in the Ecrins. Since then, I've explored various mountain ranges, from Mont Blanc to Dévoluy, in search of pleasure and sharing. For me, the mountains are all about human adventure and working together on projects.

What kind of people usually join Wildhartt expeditions ?

You don’t need to be a top athlete or adventure expert to feel at home. Most Wildhartt participants are between 25 and 60 years old, with a balanced mix of women and men.

Many join solo or in small groups of two or three. They often live in cities and are looking for a meaningful brea some time to reconnect with nature, slow down, and enjoy something real.

They usually have a regular movement practice (hiking, running, yoga...), but not with a competitive mindset. They’re in good shape, but don’t necessarily have technical skills. What brings them together is a shared desire to disconnect, observe, learn, and experience nature in a more grounded, accessible way.

If that speaks to you, you'll feel right at home. The group spirit is kind and open, and the pace adapts to everyone.

What does the price of a Wildhartt adventure include?

At Wildhartt, transparency is essential. The price of your expedition reflects a clear breakdown of costs:

  • 30% for our guides, the mainstays of every adventure.
  • 35% for accommodation and meals, essential for your comfort.
  • 10% for equipment and transport, to guarantee safety and fluidity.
  • 25% for organisation and logistics, from first contact to the end of the expedition.
