For me, the Val d’Orcia is not simply a landscape you pass through: it is a region that can be interpreted, understood and recounted. I am an agronomist and oenologist, with over twenty years’ experience at the heart of some of Montalcino’s most prestigious vineyards. On a bike, I love sharing this knowledge of the area in a different way: explaining why a particular hill produces such a distinctive Brunello, recounting the history of the landscapes we pass through, and helping people discover the little details that make this part of Tuscany so unique. After a career spanning competitive skiing and business management, I chose to devote all my energy to cycling, where I now oversee the creation of itineraries and the organisation of tours. I like to imagine each route as a true immersion in the region, going far beyond the kilometres covered. When I’m not busy planning a new adventure, you’ll often find me in the saddle, camera round my neck, searching for the most beautiful light across the hills and clay soils of Siena. With me, cycling becomes a way to discover the Val d’Orcia through sport, nature, local culture and, of course, fine Italian wines.
