DAY 1 / 10
Accommodation
Auberge
We meet up in the morning at Edinburgh train station. This is where your Scottish adventure begins: first meeting with the group, chatting over coffee and a briefing from the guide about the trip ahead.

We then board the train to Fort William, the gateway to the Highlands, where we check into our hostel and take some time to settle in. This will be our base camp for the next three nights.

In the evening, we'll meet up for a convivial first meal at the pub. This will be an opportunity to get to know each other, share our expectations, and kick off the adventure in a warm atmosphere, in keeping with Scottish traditions.
DAY 2 / 10
Accommodation
Auberge
After breakfast at the hostel, we embark on our first half-day walk in the mythical Highlands, close to Fort William. This route offers a first contact with the varied landscapes, alternating between clearings and high altitude forests, under the often changing light characteristic of the region.

Back in town, we take the time to visit a few local points of interest, then spend the afternoon checking our equipment and preparing our packs. A final group briefing brings the day to a close, over a good meal in a restaurant. Back to the hostel for our second night.

Today we set off on a gradual ascent of Ben Nevis, the highest point in the UK at 1,345m. The climb is gradual and, depending on the weather, the summit offers spectacular views of the surrounding Highlands.

On the way back down, the light slowly fades over the surrounding forests. The day ends in a cosy Scottish pub where we share a warm dinner. Back to the hostel for our last night.

This morning, we pack our bags to leave on our own for the rest of the week.

After a short taxi transfer, we reach the entrance to a wild valley marked by numerous waterfalls. This is where we enter the realm of the Highlands. We set off on small paths that wind across the moor, into the heart of these majestic mountains.

At the end of the day, we take a break to set up our first bivouac, surrounded by peaks. We set up camp under the discreet gaze of the sika deer, silent guardians of these wild lands.

After breakfast at the camp, we set off again, following small wild streams whose rocky sills create rhythmic waterfalls. The path alternates between clearings and wooded areas, mainly with scattered birch trees, which indicate the proximity of bodies of water.

Along the way, we keep our eyes peeled for the chance of spotting a golden eagle soaring over the ridges. Progress is steady, with gentle climbs and descents, until we reach the shores of Loch Treig (alt. 250 m), where we set up camp.

At the end of the day, we enjoy a campfire overlooking the loch, a warm and simple moment of sharing, lulled by the mysterious atmosphere of Scottish legends.

After packing up camp, we resume our walk eastwards, on a path that gradually widens. The terrain becomes more open as we approach Loch Ossian, a wild body of water surrounded by wooded ridges.

We arrive at Rannoch Sation, where we collect the packrafts stored on site to prepare for the nautical adventure ahead.

We set up camp in an open area close to the water, enjoying the soft evening light and calm atmosphere, ideal for recharging the batteries before sailing.

We start the day by learning how to inflate and handle the packrafts, an essential exercise for safe progress. Once ready, we set sail on the calm waters of Loch Ossian, discovering Scotland from a peaceful and immersive angle. The atmosphere is silent, punctuated by the gliding of our boats on the loch and the changing light on the water.

We take in the wide views of the surrounding hills and the forests that line the shore. The evening concludes in camp, around a crackling fire, where everyone can share their impressions of the day and prepare for the next stage.

Today, we're loading the packrafts and all the gear to make our way to Loch Laidon. On arrival, we refuel the boats on the quiet shore. We set off on calm waters, surrounded by hills and forest, immersing ourselves in a wild and unspoilt environment. The pace of the group adapts to the currents and landscapes, between wide bays and isolated coves.

At the end of the day, we set up camp on the shore, enjoying a peaceful and majestic setting to round off this day of adventure.

DAY 9 / 10

This final day of adventure takes us to Loch Rannoch, where we set up our last bivouac on the water's edge after a short crossing with all our gear. The calm atmosphere of the lake, its smooth waters and the soft light create a soothing setting for the camp. The afternoon lends itself to packraft exploration: we glide down the loch to the isolated medieval tower in the centre, discovering its stone walls and the serenity of the place.

In the evening, as luck would have it, we're treated to a natural spectacle, with a herd of deer or a few pheasants livening up our bivouac.

DAY 10 / 10

On this final day, we take a transfer from the camp to Pitlochry, a charming town in the heart of the Highlands. We visit an iconic distillery to learn about the traditional Scotch whisky making process, immersing ourselves in an age-old craft.

After this cultural break, we share a hot meal in a local pub, enjoying a friendly and relaxing atmosphere. In the late afternoon, we take the train to Edinburgh, passing through the varied and changing landscapes typical of the region.

In the evening, we return to the hustle and bustle of the city, joining a pub enlivened by the sound of bagpipes, where we celebrate the end of this adventure together with warmth and complicity.

Robin is a white-water sailor, driven by the call of wild rivers and untamed landscapes. It was in the Queyras, in the heart of the Southern Alps, that he forged his link with whitewater, gliding down crystalline torrents with steep slopes and demanding currents. There, the rivers of the Alps became his terrain of expression, combining technical skills, commitment and a deep respect for the wilderness.

What kind of people usually join Wildhartt expeditions ?

You don’t need to be a top athlete or adventure expert to feel at home. Most Wildhartt participants are between 25 and 60 years old, with a balanced mix of women and men.

Many join solo or in small groups of two or three. They often live in cities and are looking for a meaningful brea some time to reconnect with nature, slow down, and enjoy something real.

They usually have a regular movement practice (hiking, running, yoga...), but not with a competitive mindset. They’re in good shape, but don’t necessarily have technical skills. What brings them together is a shared desire to disconnect, observe, learn, and experience nature in a more grounded, accessible way.

If that speaks to you, you'll feel right at home. The group spirit is kind and open, and the pace adapts to everyone.

What does the price of a Wildhartt adventure include?

At Wildhartt, transparency is essential. The price of your expedition reflects a clear breakdown of costs:
