DAY 1 / 3
Accommodation
Auberge
D+
400m
Distance
10km
We meet in the early afternoon at the hostel, nestled in the heart of the wild Jura countryside. This is where the trail course begins, with a friendly first meeting with the group, your guide... and above all Manon and Patrick Bohard, two well-known French trail athletes, who have come to share their experience and their approach to training.

After a group briefing, it's time for the first trail outing. This warm-up session took place on varied, technical terrain, alternating descents, rolling sections and climbs. Guided by the guide, Manon and Patrick, we work on pacing and controlling our pace. The aim is clear: to learn how to manage your intensity over a given time, refine your sense of effort and better understand the link between sensations and physiological data. There's a constant exchange of ideas and personalised advice, and everyone quickly finds their bearings.

Back at the hostel at the end of the day, Patrick suggested a mobility session, ideal for releasing tension, improving range of movement and encouraging recovery after this first outing.

The evening begins with a Jura-style aperitif featuring local beers, cheeses and cold meats. It's a simple, warm way to extend the conversation. The day ends with a group discussion about the day's session: questions, feedback and enriching sharing, fed by the combined views of the guide and the two athletes.
DAY 2 / 3
Accommodation

Distance
14km
The day gets off to a gentle start with a guided relaxation hypnosis session, focusing on anchoring and refocusing. This is an optional extra, ideal for those who want to explore other ways of improving performance and recovery.

After breakfast at the gîte, the morning is devoted to an original and dynamic format: three complementary workshops, conducted in small groups, which rotate around the different themes.

The first workshop, with the guide, teaches you how to transcribe a session with a difference in altitude in a flat or low-lying environment. Through specific exercises, with or without small equipment, we discover how to recreate an effective and relevant load, even far from the mountains.

With Manon, there's a workshop dedicated to the nutrition of the traileur. Depending on the needs of the group, she shares her habits and strategies for training and racing, and answers practical questions about what you eat before, during and after exercise.

Finally, with Patrick, the group chooses its focus: perfecting pole technique (uphill, downhill, walking or running) or learning more about mental preparation, to better manage effort, fatigue and key moments in the race.

After lunch and a recovery period, the afternoon resumes with a comprehensive performance-oriented sequence. We start with a structured, reproducible and adaptable warm-up, designed to prepare the body for sustained effort.

This is followed by two tests guided by Manon, Patrick and the guide: an ascent VMA test, then a descent VMA test. Managing the start and finish, timing and video analysis provide a precise and individualised view of each person's technique and efficiency.

At the end of the day, there's a change of atmosphere with a cultural walk in the footsteps of Michel Hollard, a local figure from the Resistance, accompanied by Alexandre Cailler, guide and lecturer. A rewarding interlude between nature, history and transmission.

The evening concludes with dinner, followed by a time of discussion in the room: a look back at the tests, collective analyses, deciphering the results and numerous questions and answers with the guiding team.
DAY 3 / 3
D+
500m
Distance
Between 10 and 15km
For the most motivated, the day can begin with an outing on an empty stomach, guided and explained, in order to understand the benefits and limitations of this type of session. An educational option, but never compulsory.

After breakfast, we set off on the longest outing of the day. Divided into level groups, we explore an emblematic site in the Jura, chosen according to the day's conditions. Accompanied by Manon, Patrick and the guide, this outing is an opportunity to put into practice everything we've learned over the weekend. The content can be adapted to suit your needs: brush up on the basics, go deeper in certain workshops or simply enjoy the terrain and the sensations.

Back at the hostel for lunch, the pace gradually slows down.

The afternoon is devoted to a guided yoga session with Patrick, focusing on the basics of yoga, mindfulness and feedback. This was an invaluable time to recuperate, integrate past efforts and bring the course to a close, both physically and mentally.

A final time of group discussion allows us to look back on these three days of learning, before departing in the middle of the afternoon, rich in new tools, inspiring encounters and renewed energy for the rest of the season.

Frequently asked questions

How comfortable is your home?

You'll sleep in a comfortable hostel in a shared room (single beds). On site, you'll have all the comforts you need: sheets, blankets, pillows, bathrooms, as well as a sauna, terrace, reading room and pool table.

How do I know if I'm good enough to take part?

For this trail course, we will have 1 guide in addition to the two athletes, Manon and Patrick Bohard, so it will be possible to form groups of different levels if required. However, we recommend that you be able to run 10km a day with 400m of Ascent over 3 days.

By the way, who are Manon and Patrick Bohard?

Renowned French ultra-trailers Manon and Patrick Bohard embody two generations, two backgrounds, but the same passion for long-distance effort in the great outdoors. Manon has established herself as one of the world's leading female trail runners, with major victories in some of the most demanding races on the circuit, including the UTMB TDS and the Diagonale des Fous. Renowned for her endurance, effort management and rigour, she shares a modern, all-round approach to trail running, combining training, nutrition and mental fitness. Patrick, an emblematic figure in long-distance trail running, left his mark on the history of the discipline by winning the legendary Tor des Géants. Renowned for his longevity and humility, he passes on a vision of trail running based on experience, listening to the body and mastering the long haul. Their presence on this course offers a unique opportunity to benefit from practical advice, an expert eye and a rare sharing of experience, in direct contact with two athletes who have had a profound impact on ultra-trail running.

Is there only one possible date?

Yes, this course is being offered on a single date, because it is organised around the presence and guiding of Manon and Patrick Bohard, two ultra-trail athletes with exceptional backgrounds. To preserve the spirit of the course - a small group, privileged exchanges, personalised advice and a real immersion at their side - we have chosen to offer only one session, on this precise date. That's what makes it so special: a rare experience that won't necessarily be repeated every year.

Are instalment payment options available?

Yes, that's right! At checkout, you can choose the Alma option to pay for your booking in 2x, 3x or 4x. All you have to do is select Alma at checkout and follow the instructions. It's simple, fast and secure.

Can I privatise this expedition for my group?

Yes, all our expeditions can be privatised for a group already formed, on the dates of your choice.

To make your request, go to the expedition that interests you and click on "Privatise the expedition". We'll take care of the rest!

What happens if the weather is bad?

At Wildhartt, nature is our playground, rain or shine. Rain, snow or wind: our guides adapt the itinerary, activities and accommodation to guarantee you the best possible experience.
Unless safety is at stake (storm, avalanche, flood...).

In this exceptional case, we can cancel an expedition, at least one week before departure.
If this happens:
→ You can postpone your adventure at no cost,
→ Or receive a full refund.

What kind of people usually join Wildhartt expeditions ?

You don’t need to be a top athlete or adventure expert to feel at home. Most Wildhartt participants are between 25 and 60 years old, with a balanced mix of women and men.

Many join solo or in small groups of two or three. They often live in cities and are looking for a meaningful brea some time to reconnect with nature, slow down, and enjoy something real.

They usually have a regular movement practice (hiking, running, yoga...), but not with a competitive mindset. They’re in good shape, but don’t necessarily have technical skills. What brings them together is a shared desire to disconnect, observe, learn, and experience nature in a more grounded, accessible way.

If that speaks to you, you'll feel right at home. The group spirit is kind and open, and the pace adapts to everyone.

What does the price of a Wildhartt adventure include?

At Wildhartt, transparency is essential. The price of your expedition reflects a clear breakdown of costs:

  • 30% for our guides, the mainstays of every adventure.
  • 35% for accommodation and meals, essential for your comfort.
  • 10% for equipment and transport, to guarantee safety and fluidity.
  • 25% for organisation and logistics, from first contact to the end of the expedition.
  • 1% for the rewilding of Europe, a concrete commitment to give back to nature what it gives us.

Our priority: to offer you a quality experience, with complete clarity.
