Guide Maxime - Mountain leader (AMM)

Maxime

Mountain leader (AMM)
FrenchFrench

Originally from the Vosges, I grew up with a love of the mountains. I've been a qualified mountain leader for 10 years now, and I'm now using my experience to run trail courses in the mountains. I've been a keen trail runner and club member since childhood, and have won numerous competitions and titles over the years.

Now a specialist in vertical drop and vertical kilometre, I compete at national level and recently finished 3rd Master 0 at the French championships.

My aim? To help you progress in a safe and motivating environment... without forgetting the most important thing: having a good time together. Serious on the field, I'm funny and joking behind the scenes!

Do I need to have done any trail running or hiking before?

The aim of this expedition is to discover the sport of trail running and hiking. It is therefore aimed at anyone who wants to try these sports for the first time, or at people who have already done them but who are not seasoned trail runners.

What equipment should I take with me?

In terms of equipment, you'll need to take the following with you: A running bag for a day or half-day outing Hiking poles (available to hire) A water bottle or 2-litre water bag Waterproof windbreaker (if possible) Warm technical running clothes Running trainers A buff Gloves and a hat

The Vosges mountains are ideal for improving your trail running skills. The massif offers a wide variety of trails: panoramic ridges, steady climbs and rolling descents - the perfect environment for learning the basics of trail running, working on your technique and managing your effort in the mountains. Emblematic peaks such as the Hohneck (1363 m) offer spectacular scenery that's still within easy reach, while the friendly atmosphere in the Mountain huts makes the Vosges an ideal destination for a trail experience and for progressing over several days with a mountain guide specialising in trail running.

Unless safety is at stake (storm, avalanche, flood...).

What kind of people usually join Wildhartt expeditions ?

You don’t need to be a top athlete or adventure expert to feel at home. Most Wildhartt participants are between 25 and 60 years old, with a balanced mix of women and men.

Many join solo or in small groups of two or three. They often live in cities and are looking for a meaningful brea some time to reconnect with nature, slow down, and enjoy something real.

They usually have a regular movement practice (hiking, running, yoga...), but not with a competitive mindset. They’re in good shape, but don’t necessarily have technical skills. What brings them together is a shared desire to disconnect, observe, learn, and experience nature in a more grounded, accessible way.

If that speaks to you, you'll feel right at home. The group spirit is kind and open, and the pace adapts to everyone.

What does the price of a Wildhartt adventure include?

At Wildhartt, transparency is essential. The price of your expedition reflects a clear breakdown of costs:

  • 30% for our guides, the mainstays of every adventure.
  • 35% for accommodation and meals, essential for your comfort.
  • 10% for equipment and transport, to guarantee safety and fluidity.
  • 25% for organisation and logistics, from first contact to the end of the expedition.

Our priority: to offer you a quality experience, with complete clarity.
