    • Distance - 6Distance·6km

We'll meet at La Joux (Val d'Aoste) at 10am to meet the guide and receive our technical equipment (except for the mountaineering boots, which you'll need to take with you). We'll then climb up a wide valley to the small Italian Mountain hut on the shores of Lac d'En Bas, where we'll spend our first night.

From the Mountain hut you can see the Ruitor glacier and the path that leads to the Testa del Rutor (3486m), our goal for the last day.

As we make our way up to the Mountain hut, we can enjoy panoramic views of the La Thuile valley and Mont Blanc, and on a clear day we can also see the Grandes Jorasses and the Grand Combin.

We spend the night at the Mountain hut in a dormitory and have a meal together, before debriefing and preparing for the next day.

IFMGA Mountain Guide

Hi, I'm August, and I've been guiding in the far north of Norway for over 8 years. Skiing in front of the sea, under the northern lights, or simply enjoying nature, that's what makes me tick. Guiding is above all about sharing my passion and helping you discover places that are close to my heart, in a safe environment. Experiencing exceptional moments in the great outdoors is my raison d'être, and that's what I promise you when I accompany you.

Frequently asked questions

Who is this holiday for?

This course is aimed at people who want to discover mountaineering and glacier climbing in an educational setting. It's ideal if you're already comfortable hiking in the mountains and want to take your mountaineering skills to the next level.

Quel est le confort du logement?

The first night is spent in a guarded mountain hut, accessible on foot. The comfort is simple but warm: shared dormitories, hot meals and a friendly atmosphere among climbers. The second night is spent in an unguarded bivacco at altitude of over 3300m. It's a unique, more committed experience, where the emphasis is on immersion, spectacular views and the feeling of being alone in the high mountains, facing Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn.

Is it possible to hire mountaineering boots?

No, we do not offer mountaineering boots for hire, as we strongly recommend that you try them out before your expedition.

How heavy will my bag be?

You carry your personal rucksack with some of your equipment and food, particularly for the night in the bivacco. The weight is optimised and shared with the guide to keep it reasonable. This is part of the experience of self-sufficiency in the mountains. You should therefore expect to carry a bag weighing between 6 and 9kg maximum.

Are instalment payment options available?

Yes, that's right! At checkout, you can choose the Alma option to pay for your booking in 2x, 3x or 4x. All you have to do is select Alma at checkout and follow the instructions. It's simple, fast and secure.

Can I privatise this expedition for my group?

Yes, all our expeditions can be privatised for a group already formed, on the dates of your choice.

To make your request, go to the expedition that interests you and click on "Privatise the expedition". We'll take care of the rest!

What happens if the weather is bad?

At Wildhartt, nature is our playground, rain or shine. Rain, snow or wind: our guides adapt the itinerary, activities and accommodation to guarantee you the best possible experience.
Unless safety is at stake (storm, avalanche, flood...).

In this exceptional case, we can cancel an expedition, at least one week before departure.
If this happens:
→ You can postpone your adventure at no cost,
→ Or receive a full refund.

What kind of people usually join Wildhartt expeditions ?

You don’t need to be a top athlete or adventure expert to feel at home. Most Wildhartt participants are between 25 and 60 years old, with a balanced mix of women and men.

Many join solo or in small groups of two or three. They often live in cities and are looking for a meaningful brea some time to reconnect with nature, slow down, and enjoy something real.

They usually have a regular movement practice (hiking, running, yoga...), but not with a competitive mindset. They’re in good shape, but don’t necessarily have technical skills. What brings them together is a shared desire to disconnect, observe, learn, and experience nature in a more grounded, accessible way.

If that speaks to you, you'll feel right at home. The group spirit is kind and open, and the pace adapts to everyone.

What does the price of a Wildhartt adventure include?

At Wildhartt, transparency is essential. The price of your expedition reflects a clear breakdown of costs:

  • 30% for our guides, the mainstays of every adventure.
  • 35% for accommodation and meals, essential for your comfort.
  • 10% for equipment and transport, to guarantee safety and fluidity.
  • 25% for organisation and logistics, from first contact to the end of the expedition.
  • 1% for the rewilding of Europe, a concrete commitment to give back to nature what it gives us.

Our priority: to offer you a quality experience, with complete clarity.
