What you will experience

Sail between the sculpted red cliffs of the Piana creeks and the UNESCO-listed Scandola nature reserve.
Put your hands on the winches and hoist the sails to watch the sunset over the Sanguinaires Islands off Ajaccio.
Approach Girolata at the helm of the yacht and take part in the mooring in this isolated hamlet in the Regional Nature Park, accessible only by sea or on foot.
Hike to the Genoese tower of Turghio (330 m), set on Cap Rossu, for a bird's eye view of Porto and the wild coastline.
Climb up to the citadel of Calvi, perched above the bay, and sip a glass to the rhythm of Corsican songs.
Fall asleep lulled by the lapping of the waves aboard a sailing boat at anchor, and wake up each morning facing the sea.

    Once you've settled into your cabins, we'll give you a safety briefing and an introduction to life on board. You'll already be involved in the first manoeuvre: casting off the moorings and hoisting the sails.


    We then set sail for the Sanguinaires Islands, at the entrance to the Gulf of Ajaccio. This first outing is an opportunity to discover the different parts of the boat and their roles: helm, winches, halyards and sheets.


    At the end of the day, you'll discover the main island. Dinner and overnight at anchor.

What's included in the price

Included

Guiding: Professional skipper for the duration of the trip.
Accommodation: 7 nights aboard a Dufour 460 or equivalent.
Bedding: All sheets, blankets, household linen, pillows, pillowcases, bath and hand towels and clothes hangers are included.
The fuel consumption of the yacht is included in the price of the shipment.

Not included

On-board fund: A collective contribution will cover food, drinks and certain on-board expenses (approximately €40/day/participant).
Transport: To and from the meeting point.
Outside meals: Meals taken in restaurants off the boat.
Everything that is not included in "what is included".
Cancellation 30 days before departure is not included on this trip.

What level should you expect

Level 2
You should be at least 18 years old to participate
  • You don't need to have any sailing experience, just the basics: hoisting the sails, steering, understanding the wind and taking part in mooring and anchoring manoeuvres.
  • You'll be able to walk 4 hours a day on accessible paths, with stages of 7 km and up to 350 m of Ascent.
  • You're prepared to share each night aboard a yacht, in the promiscuity of shared cabins.
  • You're comfortable on a boat and don't suffer from seasickness.

To get to Ajaccio, you can combine train and boat:


First take a train to Saint-Raphaël.

  • Departure station > Saint-Raphaël


From the Vieux-Port in Saint-Raphaël, board a Sailcoop sailboat at night to arrive in Calvi.

  • Saint-Raphaël > Calvi (6pm)


From Calvi, take a train to Ponte Leccia, then another to Ajaccio station.

  • Calvi > Ponte Leccia (1h50)
  • Ponte Leccia > Ajaccio station (2h35)


This is an original way to arrive in Corsica, allowing you to cross the island by train and discover its inland landscapes!

If you don't have a car, you should know that we encourage car-pooling between participants by creating a WhatsApp group 15 days before departure: an opportunity to get to know each other before you even start your expedition!

Departure is confirmed 15 days in advance for adventures lasting more than 4 days. Departure is confirmed 7 days prior for adventures lasting less than 4 days.

Frequently asked questions

What about shopping and meals during your sailing holiday?

Most of the time, we cook on board, in pairs, alternating between cooking and washing up. On some evenings, depending on what we feel like doing and the weather, we dine ashore. Before we set sail, we exchange ideas on the WhatsApp group to define the meals and take into account any allergies or preferences. The shopping is done collectively on the first day, with the possibility of buying back a few products during stopovers. Remember to bring a large canvas bag to avoid using plastic bags on land!

Are there nights at the port?

All nights are spent at anchor, offering an authentic and tranquil experience in the Corsican calas. Only the last night of our return journey is spent in the port of Ajaccio.

How comfortable is the yacht?

The cabins are comfortable and well-equipped: there are 4 double rooms, 1 room with a bunk bed (where one participant will sleep with the skipper), and 2 toilets/showers on board. If the number of participants is reduced, we reserve the right to offer a smaller yacht.

What are the specific features and dimensions of the yacht?

Model: Oceanis 43 - Length: 12.94 m - Beam: 4.25 m - Cabins: 3 double + 1 with bunk bed - Bathrooms: 2 - Capacity: up to 7 people + skipper - Fully equipped galley, inside seating area and spacious deck to enjoy the sun and the views.

Is this expedition open to children?

This expedition is open to people aged 16 and over. If you want to take part with younger children, the expedition can be privatised to suit your needs!

Are instalment payment options available?

Yes, that's right! At checkout, you can choose the Alma option to pay for your booking in 2x, 3x or 4x. All you have to do is select Alma at checkout and follow the instructions. It's simple, fast and secure.

Can I privatise this expedition for my group?

Yes, all our expeditions can be privatised for a group already formed, on the dates of your choice.

What happens if the weather is bad?

At Wildhartt, nature is our playground, rain or shine. Rain, snow or wind: our guides adapt the itinerary, activities and accommodation to guarantee you the best possible experience.
Unless safety is at stake (storm, avalanche, flood...).


In this exceptional case, we can cancel an expedition, at least one week before departure.

What kind of people usually join Wildhartt expeditions ?

You don’t need to be a top athlete or adventure expert to feel at home. Most Wildhartt participants are between 25 and 60 years old, with a balanced mix of women and men.
