Sail Brittany’s wild Isles: Belle-Île to the Glénan

June to October
7 days| 6 nights
Level 2
Eco-score 4/5

What you will experience

Disembark at Sauzon or Port du Palais and sail along the jagged cliffs of Belle-Île, with the Atlantic wind and the call of the gulls in the background.
Anchor in the heart of les Glénan, Finistère's 'Seychelles': turquoise waters, sandbanks and colonies of seabirds just a mask away.
Set foot on the island of Groix - 2,000 Groisillons, shale coves and harbour cafés where you can have breakfast overlooking the sailing boats.
Explore Hoëdic between white sand and sharp rocks: stop off with your feet in the water, listen to the lapping waves and feel the light change at sunset.
Sail across the Golfe du Morbihan, past old Breton sailing ships and disembark at Île-aux-Moines for a looping bike ride through its flower-filled streets.
Anchor at Houat - an island of 2 km² - and walk around it after a practical navigation session: sand under your feet, wind in your sails, skills reinforced.

We'll meet at 10am in the port of La Trinité-sur-Mer or Haliguen to get to know the crew and skipper. Safety briefing, discovery of the yacht and distribution of roles before casting off (precise information about the port of departure and arrival will be confirmed to you before the expedition, so that you can organise your transport with peace of mind).

You'll take part in the first manoeuvres and take the helm for the first few miles. Set course for Belle-Île, with a possible arrival in Sauzon or Port-Palais depending on the conditions. Stroll ashore to discover the cliffs and beaches before dinner on board. First night at anchor.

Frequently asked questions

Who is this sailing expedition for?

This expedition is open to anyone who wants to discover sailing while exploring Brittany's most beautiful islands. No previous sailing experience is necessary. Whether you're a complete beginner or already curious about the marine world, the trip is designed to help you learn gently, take part in manoeuvres if you wish, or simply enjoy the sea and the ports of call.

Where do we sleep during our stay?

All nights are spent on board the yacht, in bunks. The boat becomes our floating base camp for the whole week. Depending on the conditions and the itinerary, we spend the nights at anchor, in port or close to the islands. Space is shared, as on any sailing boat, in a friendly and simple atmosphere.

How are meals organised?

Meals are organised on board the boat. You will need to pay €25 per person per day. This covers the cost of food, fuel, harbours and moorings. Meals are prepared collectively, in a crew spirit. It's also an opportunity to share some simple, warm moments after the day's sailing.

Should I bring cash?

Yes, it is advisable to have some cash on board for the ship's till and for any drinks you may consume on land during stopovers. Some small islands and ports do not always accept credit cards.

What equipment should I bring?

A roadbook is sent to you before you embark, with a clear list of what you need to pack. In general, this will consist of clothing suitable for sailing (windbreaker, warm clothing, non-slip shoes), a soft bag, sun protection and a few personal items. There's no need to pack rigid suitcases, as space on board is optimised.

Will I learn to sail?

Yes, the trip includes theoretical and practical training, adapted to each person's level. You can take part in manoeuvres, learn the basics of navigation, understand the route choices, the weather and life on board. On the last day, there's a time to take stock of the situation and identify areas for improvement for those who wish to continue sailing afterwards.

Is the boat suitable for learning to sail?

Yes, perfectly. The deck layout is designed to be both ergonomic and safe. The manoeuvring areas are clearly identified, the cockpits are clear and comfortable, and the helm station gives you a good understanding of how it feels to sail. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced sailor, the boat lends itself very well to progressive learning.

Where does the expedition begin and end?

The expedition can start or finish in either La Trinité-sur-mer or Port Haliguen, depending on where the boat is at the time of departure. Both ports are in Quiberon Bay and offer equivalent sailing conditions. Precise information about the port of departure and arrival will be confirmed to you in advance of the expedition, so that you can organise your transport with peace of mind.

What type of boat will we be using during the expedition?

We're sailing aboard a 15.20-metre monohull racing-cruising yacht, designed to offer both performance under sail and comfort on board. It's a robust, seaworthy and versatile boat, capable of adapting to coastal sailing as well as more challenging crossings. The boat has five double cabins, three of which are accessible to participants. Two large aft cabins each have their own bathroom. Another bathroom is shared by the central and forward cabins. The mattresses are of high quality, equipped with memory foam pillows, and each berth is fitted with anti-roll covers to ensure a good night's sleep, even when the boat heels over.

Are instalment payment options available?

Yes, that's right! At checkout, you can choose the Alma option to pay for your booking in 2x, 3x or 4x. All you have to do is select Alma at checkout and follow the instructions. It's simple, fast and secure.

Can I privatise this expedition for my group?

Yes, all our expeditions can be privatised for a group already formed, on the dates of your choice.

To make your request, go to the expedition that interests you and click on "Privatise the expedition". We'll take care of the rest!

What happens if the weather is bad?

At Wildhartt, nature is our playground, rain or shine. Rain, snow or wind: our guides adapt the itinerary, activities and accommodation to guarantee you the best possible experience.
Unless safety is at stake (storm, avalanche, flood...).

In this exceptional case, we can cancel an expedition, at least one week before departure.
If this happens:
→ You can postpone your adventure at no cost,
→ Or receive a full refund.

What kind of people usually join Wildhartt expeditions ?

You don’t need to be a top athlete or adventure expert to feel at home. Most Wildhartt participants are between 25 and 60 years old, with a balanced mix of women and men.

Many join solo or in small groups of two or three. They often live in cities and are looking for a meaningful brea some time to reconnect with nature, slow down, and enjoy something real.

They usually have a regular movement practice (hiking, running, yoga...), but not with a competitive mindset. They’re in good shape, but don’t necessarily have technical skills. What brings them together is a shared desire to disconnect, observe, learn, and experience nature in a more grounded, accessible way.

If that speaks to you, you'll feel right at home. The group spirit is kind and open, and the pace adapts to everyone.

What does the price of a Wildhartt adventure include?

At Wildhartt, transparency is essential. The price of your expedition reflects a clear breakdown of costs:

  • 30% for our guides, the mainstays of every adventure.
  • 35% for accommodation and meals, essential for your comfort.
  • 10% for equipment and transport, to guarantee safety and fluidity.
  • 25% for organisation and logistics, from first contact to the end of the expedition.
  • 1% for the rewilding of Europe, a concrete commitment to give back to nature what it gives us.

Our priority: to offer you a quality experience, with complete clarity.
