DAY 1 / 7
Accommodation
sailboat
Navigation
1 to 2 hours
We'll meet at the Port du Crouesty at 3pm: we'll get settled on board, have a safety briefing, get to know the boat and allocate roles. As soon as you leave the channel, you enter Quiberon Bay: a wide but protected stretch of water, perfect for getting to grips with the boat for the first time. You'll help with the trimming, take the helm and observe the alignments of the Rhuys peninsula.

Head for Houat, where the white beaches gradually appear on the horizon. Anchor in a sheltered cove, enjoy your first swim and watch the sun set over the Atlantic.

DAY 2 / 7
Accommodation
sailboat
Navigation
3h
Wake up at the anchorage, enjoy a coffee facing the sea, then gradually leave the bay for more open sailing. En route, we work on map reading and anticipating currents. The arrival on Belle-Île marks a change of scale: jagged cliffs, more marked relief, bustling harbours.

Stopover at Sauzon or Le Palais depending on the conditions. Vauban citadel, lively quayside, strong maritime atmosphere. Overnight in port.
DAY 3 / 7
Accommodation
sailboat
Navigation
4h
We sail along the west coast of Belle-Île: the needles of Port Coton, cliffs battered by the swell, a distinctly more Atlantic atmosphere.

Sailing is more demanding depending on the conditions, with a more pronounced feeling of the open sea. Working on heading upwind, anticipating the swell, crew coordination.
Weather permitting, more isolated anchorage. Visually the most spectacular day of the trip.
DAY 4 / 7
Accommodation
sailboat
Navigation
5 to 6 h
Today, we're heading out on a longer tack towards Groix. It's a real feeling of being on the move: a more open stretch of water, finer trimming, everyone taking an active role. We're observing the variations in the wind and the evolution of the sea as the miles go by.

As you approach, the mineral cliffs and geological contrasts announce the stopover. Anchor at Les Sables Rouges or arrive at Port-Tudy. A more raw and luminous atmosphere.
DAY 5 / 7
Accommodation
sailboat
Navigation
6 to 7 hours
Leaving Groix to head back towards Quiberon Bay, the sailing is more coastal. Alternating sheltered areas and more exposed passages, ideal for fine-tuning your manoeuvres.

Arrival at Hoëdic, a small island with an almost Mediterranean feel when the light is clear. No cars, just paths, sand and rocks polished by the wind. Anchor in a protected cove.
DAY 6 / 7
Accommodation
sailboat
Navigation
2h30
More technical navigation in the bay, with reading of currents and anticipation of trajectories. Depending on the timing and the weather, you may come close to the entrance to the Gulf of Morbihan, famous for its beacons and overturns.

Repeated manoeuvres, crew coordination and precise approaches. Anchor or sheltered stopover for the last night.
DAY 7 / 7
Navigation
3 to 4 hours
Last sail along the Rhuys peninsula. We're consolidating what we've learnt: smooth tacks, clean trimming, anticipating trajectories.

Return to Crouesty in the late morning or early afternoon. Tidy up the boat, collective debriefing on the quayside. The loop is coherent: islands, open sea, wild coast, inner bay.

Frequently asked questions

Is the course safe for first-time trainees?

Yes, a full safety briefing is given at the start of the trip. The boat is equipped with all the statutory safety equipment and the skipper supervises the sailing at all times.

Who is this sailing expedition for?

This expedition is for anyone who wants to really learn to sail. It's ideal if you're new to sailing or if you've already sailed a little but never felt fully at ease. The aim is not to consume a cruise, but to understand the boat, the sea and the logic of a crew, until you are capable of doing the same thing independently on a future course.

Where do we sleep during the course?

Nights are spent on board the yacht, either at anchor in sheltered areas or in port, depending on the itinerary and the weather. Cabins are shared, as on all cruising boats. Sleeping on board is an important part of the learning process: understanding the rhythm of the sea, the quiet nights and life on the water.

Do you need to have sailed before to take part?

No previous experience is necessary. The course is designed to be progressive, with lots of repetition and explanation. If you've never sailed before, you'll learn the basics in the first few hours. If you already have some experience, the skipper will help you refine your movements and your understanding of the wind, the current and how to steer the boat.

Which yacht will we be sailing on during the expedition?

The Moody 33 offers a cockpit with enough protection to share manoeuvres with the group. Inside, the space is well thought out for several people: a forward cabin, a saloon with bench seats that double as berths, two aft bench seats and a small, functional galley. Water, storage and access to the cabins are all designed to enable several people to live together without stepping on each other's toes.

Are instalment payment options available?

Yes, that's right! At checkout, you can choose the Alma option to pay for your booking in 2x, 3x or 4x. All you have to do is select Alma at checkout and follow the instructions. It's simple, fast and secure.

Can I privatise this expedition for my group?

Yes, all our expeditions can be privatised for a group already formed, on the dates of your choice.

To make your request, go to the expedition that interests you and click on "Privatise the expedition". We'll take care of the rest!

What happens if the weather is bad?

At Wildhartt, nature is our playground, rain or shine. Rain, snow or wind: our guides adapt the itinerary, activities and accommodation to guarantee you the best possible experience.
Unless safety is at stake (storm, avalanche, flood...).

In this exceptional case, we can cancel an expedition, at least one week before departure.
If this happens:
→ You can postpone your adventure at no cost,
→ Or receive a full refund.

What kind of people usually join Wildhartt expeditions ?

You don’t need to be a top athlete or adventure expert to feel at home. Most Wildhartt participants are between 25 and 60 years old, with a balanced mix of women and men.

Many join solo or in small groups of two or three. They often live in cities and are looking for a meaningful brea some time to reconnect with nature, slow down, and enjoy something real.

They usually have a regular movement practice (hiking, running, yoga...), but not with a competitive mindset. They’re in good shape, but don’t necessarily have technical skills. What brings them together is a shared desire to disconnect, observe, learn, and experience nature in a more grounded, accessible way.

If that speaks to you, you'll feel right at home. The group spirit is kind and open, and the pace adapts to everyone.

What does the price of a Wildhartt adventure include?

At Wildhartt, transparency is essential. The price of your expedition reflects a clear breakdown of costs:

  • 30% for our guides, the mainstays of every adventure.
  • 35% for accommodation and meals, essential for your comfort.
  • 10% for equipment and transport, to guarantee safety and fluidity.
  • 25% for organisation and logistics, from first contact to the end of the expedition.
  • 1% for the rewilding of Europe, a concrete commitment to give back to nature what it gives us.

Our priority: to offer you a quality experience, with complete clarity.
