    We'll meet at 9am in Viroinval, where your guides Marc and Adeline will welcome you for an introductory briefing. As soon as you arrive, you'll be plunged into the world of survival.


    The morning begins with a workshop on the knots that are essential for survival, followed by a course on how to use a tarpaulin to protect yourself from the elements. Once we've mastered these fundamental techniques, we take a well-deserved lunch break.


    The afternoon is devoted to learning how to light a fire, a crucial skill for any survivor. Then you'll learn how to choose and prepare a bivouac site, where you'll spend the night. This first day allows you to fully immerse yourself in the art of survival, while developing essential practical skills.

Adeline is passionate about nature and outdoor adventure. She currently works as a soldier in the Belgian Defence Force, where she has had the opportunity to train as a survival instructor. Adeline is a very dynamic person who loves new experiences of all kinds (survival, packraft, autonomous trekking, climbing, ULM, etc.). She's happy to share her experience and will put all her energy into helping you discover this world in an educational way.

What's included in the price

Included

Guiding: Throughout the weekend you will be guided by an expert survival instructor.
Equipment: As our guides love to say, "survival is about making do with what you have". So you won't need much equipment! You'll receive: a compass, a map holder, a folding saw and a fire kit. As for the rest, you'll receive an exhaustive list of the equipment you'll need to take with you once you've registered.
Meals: All meals are included from Saturday evening to Sunday lunchtime.
Hire of the private site where you'll be spending the weekend.

What level should you expect

  • You can walk 5km to 8km in less than 2 hours
  • You are able to make a light physical effort for 5 to 6 hours a day
  • You're not afraid to sleep in a natural shelter and live for two days without sanitary facilities

You should know that we encourage carpooling between participants by creating a WhatsApp group 15 days before departure: an opportunity to get to know each other before you even start your expedition!

  • If the minimum number of participants is reached, departure is confirmed!
  • If the minimum number of participants is not reached, we will give you a full refund.
Departure is confirmed 15 days in advance for adventures lasting more than 4 days. Departure is confirmed 7 days prior for adventures lasting less than 4 days.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need any pre-requisites?

No, this expedition is accessible to everyone as long as you can walk ten kilometres in two stages (i.e. two times five kilometres).

Does the course offer survival certification or accreditation?

At the end of your course you will receive your "BASIC SURVIVAL COURSE" certificate, proving that you have acquired the basics of survival in the wild with a survival instructor.

What will we eat there?

On the first day, you will receive a military ration type of food. On the second day, we'll start the day with a chiapati workshop and improved trapper bread, and we'll eat a broth made with the food found after the practical map-reading exercise at lunchtime.

Can children take part?

Of course, children are welcome on this expedition as long as they are accompanied by an adult. The course costs €175 for children under 18.

What equipment should I bring to the course?

Once you've registered, you'll receive a full list of the equipment you'll need. Here's an overview: tarp, ground sheet, sleeping bag adapted to the season, paracord and cords, headlamp, leather gloves, water bottle and fire basket. If you don't want to make a one-shot purchase, we can hire a complete bag containing all the equipment you need, for an extra €40.

What does the €50 hire bag contain?

For this survival course, you can hire a bag containing all the equipment you need, including 1 sleeping kit (1 ground mattress, 1 tarp, 1 sleeping bag, 1 10m rope, 4 2m ropes, 2 cords, 2 stakes), 1 food kit (leather gloves, cutlery, kitchen utensils, wire), a headlamp, batteries, a bin bag, a zip lock and toilet paper. It will be possible to make a request when the whatsapp group is created.

Are instalment payment options available?

Yes, that's right! At checkout, you can choose the Alma option to pay for your booking in 2x, 3x or 4x. All you have to do is select Alma at checkout and follow the instructions. It's simple, fast and secure.

Can I privatise this expedition for my group?

Yes, all our expeditions can be privatised for a group already formed, on the dates of your choice.

To make your request, go to the expedition that interests you and click on "Privatise the expedition". We'll take care of the rest!

What happens if the weather is bad?

At Wildhartt, nature is our playground, rain or shine. Rain, snow or wind: our guides adapt the itinerary, activities and accommodation to guarantee you the best possible experience.
Unless safety is at stake (storm, avalanche, flood...).


In this exceptional case, we can cancel an expedition, at least one week before departure.
If this happens:

→ Or receive a full refund.


What kind of people usually join Wildhartt expeditions ?

You don’t need to be a top athlete or adventure expert to feel at home. Most Wildhartt participants are between 25 and 60 years old, with a balanced mix of women and men.


Many join solo or in small groups of two or three. They often live in cities and are looking for a meaningful brea some time to reconnect with nature, slow down, and enjoy something real.


They usually have a regular movement practice (hiking, running, yoga...), but not with a competitive mindset. They’re in good shape, but don’t necessarily have technical skills. What brings them together is a shared desire to disconnect, observe, learn, and experience nature in a more grounded, accessible way.


If that speaks to you, you'll feel right at home. The group spirit is kind and open, and the pace adapts to everyone.
