Welcome at 8:30 am at the Précherel car park to meet the group and guide. Briefing on the itinerary, bag check, then departure on a continuous climb through the forest to La Croix. The first magnificent view is of Trélod, the iconic summit of the Bauges.
The rest of the route takes you through open mountain pastures, until you reach your first summit at over 2,000m. This is the perfect opportunity to take a look around and learn about the geological history of the massif.
The descent is through a wild combe, beneath the foothills of the highest point in the Bauges, before crossing a valley and climbing back up to the Mountain hut. Situated in a privileged setting, it sometimes offers the opportunity to observe chamois with a spyglass.
After breakfast, we get off to a gentle start with a gradual descent before climbing to a col at 1,700m. From here, the ascent continues to one of the most beautiful peaks in the Bauges (2,000 m+), via a steep path and ridge sections.
The summit offers exceptional views of Mont Blanc and the whole of the Alps. After a well-deserved break, we descend to the pass for a picnic, then cross a slope dotted with scree and forest, before climbing back up to our Mountain hut for the evening.
A Mountain hut with a splendid view, ideal for enjoying a drink or homemade snack while waiting for dinner.
This stage begins with a balcony path offering beautiful views of Mont Blanc. We then descend into the Combe d'Ire along a forest path, before heading up the other side towards the mountain pastures of the Charbon mountain range.
There are several summits in front of us, all accessible and panoramic: whichever option you choose, the view will be there.
The descent is via the GR, a magnificent path beneath the cliffs, ideal for observing the birds of prey that nest there. Overnight in a Mountain hut/farm hostel, which also houses a goat farm renowned for its cheeses.
On this final day, we climb to the Col de l'Écurie and cross the mountain pastures. A final steep but rewarding climb takes us to a unique viewpoint, perfect for reviewing the 4-day itinerary.
The descent passes beneath the foothills of Trélod, then through the peaceful hamlets of the valley. We stop off at the pretty church in Jarsy, before returning to the car park at around 4pm.
Times and elevation changes are given as a guide only and may vary according to the weather, the state of the terrain and the pace of the group.
After two long trips that made me fall in love with the mountains, I decided to settle in the Alps. I chose Chambéry, an ideal location between the Bauges, Chartreuse and Belledonne massifs. Since 2024, I've been devoting myself fully to my job as a mountain leader, a career change that allows me to combine exploration, environmental awareness, a taste for challenge and training, all in the heart of the mountains, a fascinating and constantly evolving environment.

You don’t need to be a top athlete or mountain expert to feel at home. Most Wildhartt participants are between 25 and 60 years old, with a balanced mix of women and men.
Many join solo or in small groups of two or three. They often live in cities and are looking for a meaningful brea some time to reconnect with nature, slow down, and enjoy something real.
They usually have a regular movement practice (hiking, running, yoga...), but not with a competitive mindset. They’re in good shape, but don’t necessarily have technical skills. What brings them together is a shared desire to disconnect, observe, learn, and experience nature in a more grounded, accessible way.
If that speaks to you, you'll feel right at home. The group spirit is kind and open, and the pace adapts to everyone.
