Meet in Bonneval-sur-Arc (1,800 m) in the morning (10 am). After a warm welcome from your guide, we’ll hold a safety briefing and go over the gear together. Once we’re ready, we’ll set off on a gentle first ascent on skis towards the Évettes hut (2,590 m). This acclimatisation day allows us to ease into the rhythm of the journey and soak up the spectacular scenery of the Haute Maurienne.

At the end of the day, the refuge welcomes us with a warm and cosy atmosphere, perched opposite the glacial cirque of Les Évettes. A hearty dinner, mountain chats, and a night under a starry sky.

A beautiful descent takes us to the Alberto Gastaldi refuge (2,659 m), on the Italian side. The atmosphere here is authentic and rustic, and dinner is a real moment of comfort: steaming polenta, local cheeses and Italian-style dolce vita.

The descent is varied and fun, alternating between gentle slopes and wild valleys, all the way to the Avérole refuge (2,229 m). Tonight is our last night in the mountains, in a friendly refuge where we can savour the moments we've shared and the efforts we've made.

DAY 4 / 4

We set off early in the morning to climb the legendary Signal de l'Albaron (3,637 m), the region's iconic peak. The ascent is made at a steady pace, in an atmosphere of high mountain wilderness. At the top, the 360° view of the French, Italian and Swiss Alps is a real treat.

We then embark on a spectacular descent via the Vallonet glacier, before returning to the valley and Bonneval-sur-Arc, where the adventure comes to a close over a well-deserved nightcap.

What kind of people usually join Wildhartt expeditions ?

You don’t need to be a top athlete or mountain expert to feel at home. Most Wildhartt participants are between 25 and 60 years old, with a balanced mix of women and men.

Many join solo or in small groups of two or three. They often live in cities and are looking for a meaningful brea some time to reconnect with nature, slow down, and enjoy something real.

They usually have a regular movement practice (hiking, running, yoga...), but not with a competitive mindset. They’re in good shape, but don’t necessarily have technical skills. What brings them together is a shared desire to disconnect, observe, learn, and experience nature in a more grounded, accessible way.

If that speaks to you, you'll feel right at home. The group spirit is kind and open, and the pace adapts to everyone.
