Experience the unique contrast of a day on skis followed by a steamy sauna in a small Nordic fishing village.
Ski Arnøya, Norway's 15ᵉ largest island, with descents from Arnøyhøgda (1,170 m) that literally plunge down to the sea.

    Arrive in Tromsø, often referred to as the "Gateway to the Arctic", in the early afternoon. This dynamic town is renowned for its aurora borealis observatory and for being the departure point for numerous expeditions. After a presentation of the programme and the crew, we weigh anchor to sail through the fjords towards our first skiing or snowboarding destination. First views of the majestic Nordic landscapes before enjoying dinner on board.

Hi, I'm August, and I've been guiding in the far north of Norway for over 8 years. Skiing in front of the sea, under the northern lights, or simply enjoying nature, that's what makes me tick. Guiding is above all about sharing my passion and helping you discover places that are close to my heart, in a safe environment. Experiencing exceptional moments in the great outdoors is my raison d'être, and that's what I promise you when I accompany you.

⚠️ For this expedition, August may be replaced by another equally experienced guide, depending on availability. All our guides speak English, and many of them also speak French, to ensure you have an equally rewarding experience.

What's included in the price

Included

Supervision by an IFMGA mountain guide for 6 days of ski touring
Your skipper, present throughout the trip, will be in charge of navigation on this unique adventure.
Accommodation for 7 nights on a 47-foot sailboat with 5 cabins and 3 or 4 bathrooms with shower
Catering: breakfasts, lunches and dinners from the first evening to the evening of the eighth day
Fishing gear: try your luck at fishing at the end of the day to enhance your meals with a local touch.

Not included

The return journey to the meeting point.
Your personal ski touring equipment: ski touring skis, boots, poles, avalanche transceiver kit, crampons.
Transport from the airport/train station to the meeting point at the Marina: this takes 30 minutes by bus or 10 minutes by taxi.
Free cancellation up to 30 days before departure. For this trip in the Lyngen Alps, you will need to take out the optional cancellation insurance to benefit from this.

What level should you expect

Level 4
You should be at least 18 years old to participate
WHO IS THIS FOR?
You’re an experienced ski tourer. You’re self-sufficient in the mountains and comfortable on long, technical and challenging routes.

You’re at the right level if:
  • You are very confident on descents, including in difficult snow conditions and on steep slopes (up to 40–45°)
  • You can ski for 8 to 10 hours a day
  • You can climb between 1,200 and 1,700 metres of ascent (occasionally more)
  • You have already completed challenging ski tours or expeditions in recent seasons
  • You do endurance sport at least 3 to 4 times a week
  • You have a perfect command of gear changes and pacing
  • You are comfortable with steep and exposed sections
  • You’re able to handle several hours of physical effort outdoors in sometimes challenging conditions (wind, snow, polar cold).
  • You know how to use your safety equipment (avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe) independently
  • The expedition will be conducted entirely in English, so you need to be comfortable understanding instructions and communicating in English throughout the trip.

Want to avoid the traffic and travel in comfort? Take the train. Getting to Tromsø without flying is a truly rewarding adventure in itself, combining train, bus and ferry travel through Germany, Denmark and Sweden:

  • Departure station > Hamburg (via Cologne)
  • Hamburg > Copenhagen
  • Copenhagen > Stockholm
  • Stockholm > Narvik (night train, Europe's most northerly station)
  • Narvik > Tromsø (bus)

What is the guide/participant ratio?

There will be a maximum of 7 participants, accompanied by an experienced skipper and an English-speaking UIAGM/IFMGA guide. This configuration is perfect for guaranteeing personalised support, optimum safety and the ability to adapt to each person's level and wishes. All in a friendly atmosphere, almost like a family. You'll feel right at home, but in the middle of a Nordic adventure!

I get seasick, is that a problem?

The waters of Lyngen, where we sail, are renowned for their exceptional calm. Thanks to these ideal conditions, seasickness is a rare occurrence on our trips. Our experienced guides, with their many years of experience, confirm that problematic cases of seasickness are extremely rare. If you are nevertheless sensitive, don't hesitate to tell us about it in advance: we'll advise you on suitable solutions to ensure you get the most out of your experience.

Do I need a visa to travel to Norway?

As a French, Belgian, Swiss or Luxembourg citizen, you do not need a visa to travel to Norway. You can enter and stay in Norway with a valid identity card or passport. Norway is part of the Schengen area, which allows free movement of people between member countries.

What about cabin comfort?

The Delphia 47 is superbly comfortable for this kind of trip. There are 5 cabins, with options for double rooms (double bed) or rooms with bunk beds. We also share 3 to 4 bathrooms with showers, a communal lounge and a well-equipped galley. It's cosy and friendly, perfect for adventure, while giving you some privacy in your cabin.

What's the weather like in March and April in Lyngen?

Get ready for a real Nordic winter! Temperatures range from -10°C to 5°C, with snow and occasional sunshine (perfect for admiring the scenery). The climate can change quickly, so make sure you wear mountain clothing that's wind- and moisture-resistant. And don't forget, the fjords often offer milder conditions than the peaks!

What happens if my flight is delayed?

Don't panic! If your flight is delayed, let us know as soon as possible. We'll do everything we can to accommodate you as well as possible and adjust the organisation. Of course, if the delay is long, part of the programme may be slightly disrupted, but we'll always find a solution so that you get the most out of the experience.

What happens if I have to cancel my expedition to Lapland?

We strongly recommend that you take out individual cancellation insurance. If you wish to cancel your participation in an expedition in Lapland, simply send us an email. As soon as we receive your cancellation email, we will apply cancellation charges according to the date on which the cancellation is made: Cancellation charges: - More than 10 weeks before departure: the deposit is non-refundable. - Between 31 days and 10 weeks before departure: 75% of the total amount will be retained. - Between 0 and 30 days before departure: 100% of the total amount will be retained. That said, at Wildhartt we always do our best to find a replacement. If we are successful, we will refund the full amount.

What ski equipment should I bring?

As soon as your registration is finalised, you'll receive a full list of what you need to bring with you. In the meantime, here's what you'll need to be ready to hit the slopes: Your touring skis with suitable bindings Skins Poles Ski touring boots avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe Helmet Technical clothing (breathable layers, waterproof jacket, ski trousers) Gloves, hat, mask or sunglasses Rucksack (30-40L) with ski rack Water bottle or thermos And of course, sun cream and lip balm to keep out the cold! Equipment and touring skis can be hired when you make your reservation.

Are instalment payment options available?

Yes, that's right! At checkout, you can choose the Alma option to pay for your booking in 2x, 3x or 4x. All you have to do is select Alma at checkout and follow the instructions. It's simple, fast and secure.

Can I privatise this expedition for my group?

Yes, all our expeditions can be privatised for a group already formed, on the dates of your choice.

To make your request, go to the expedition that interests you and click on "Privatise the expedition". We'll take care of the rest!

What kind of people usually join Wildhartt expeditions ?

You don’t need to be a top athlete or adventure expert to feel at home. Most Wildhartt participants are between 25 and 60 years old, with a balanced mix of women and men.


Many join solo or in small groups of two or three. They often live in cities and are looking for a meaningful brea some time to reconnect with nature, slow down, and enjoy something real.


They usually have a regular movement practice (hiking, running, yoga...), but not with a competitive mindset. They’re in good shape, but don’t necessarily have technical skills. What brings them together is a shared desire to disconnect, observe, learn, and experience nature in a more grounded, accessible way.


If that speaks to you, you'll feel right at home. The group spirit is kind and open, and the pace adapts to everyone.

What happens if the weather is bad?

At Wildhartt, nature is our playground, rain or shine. Rain, snow or wind: our guides adapt the itinerary, activities and accommodation to guarantee you the best possible experience.
Unless safety is at stake (storm, avalanche, flood...).


In this exceptional case, we can cancel an expedition, at least one week before departure.
If this happens:
→ You can postpone your adventure at no cost,
→ Or receive a full refund.


What does the price of a Wildhartt adventure include?

At Wildhartt, transparency is essential. The price of your expedition reflects a clear breakdown of costs:

  • 30% for our guides, the mainstays of every adventure.
  • 35% for accommodation and meals, essential for your comfort.
  • 10% for equipment and transport, to guarantee safety and fluidity.
  • 25% for organisation and logistics, from first contact to the end of the expedition.
  • 1% for the rewilding of Europe, a concrete commitment to give back to nature what it gives us.
