What you will experience

Climb the summit of Mont Blanc (4,809 m) on ski touring: two days to reach the roof of the Alps on one of its most legendary routes.
Spend the night at the Grands Mulets mountain hut (3,051 m), perched on a rocky outcrop among the glaciers: an unforgettable high-mountain experience.
Cross the Jonction, that impressive passage between the Taconnaz and Bossons glaciers, where you can feel all the power of the moving ice.
Experience a night-time climb with headlamps, setting off at 2am, when only the screech of your skis and the glow of the lamps pierce the silence.
Ski down 2,700 m of untracked snow and, conditions permitting, add another 700 m of descent to Chamonix, for a total of 3,400 m of uninterrupted skiing from the roof of the Alps.
Progress in complete confidence alongside a mountain guide, who will read the conditions, choose the right itinerary and make every step of the way safe, so that you can enjoy your ascent with a clear head.

    We'll meet at 9am in Chamonix, where you'll get to know your guide. Together, you'll take a moment to check your equipment and make sure everything is in order for the ascent.


    The day begins with a cable car ride up to the Plan de l'Aiguille (2,317 m). From here, you cross the north face towards the Jonction, an impressive passage between the glaciers. You continue on to the Grands Mulets Mountain hut (3,051 m), perched on a rocky promontory amidst the ice. This is where you will spend the night, in a high mountain atmosphere.

What's included in the price

Included

Guiding by an experienced UIAGM mountain guide.
Accommodation: One night in a comfortable mountain hut in a shared room (single beds).
Meals: All meals are included, from the first evening meal to the picnic on the second day.
Collective technical equipment: harness, ice axe, ropes and karabiners are provided.
Transfer: the cable car from day 1 to Plan de l'Aiguille is included.

Not included

Transport to and from the venue.
Rental of ski touring equipment: skis, boots, poles, skins, knives, helmet and avalanche transceiver safety equipment (available at the next stage of your booking).
Any personal expenses.

What level should you expect

Level 4
You should be at least 18 years old to participate

The expedition requires the appropriate level to ensure group safety and a quality experience, with level verification possible by the guide. If the level is insufficient, access may be refused without alternative or refund.

  • You are a very good skier, able to ski on all slopes up to 45°, on variable snow.
  • You feel capable of putting in a physical effort of ± 9 hours with 2,000 m of Ascent.
  • You'll be ready to ski in the high mountains, where temperatures can be low, the wind strong and the start time early, sometimes before dawn (around 2 a.m.).
  • This adventure is recommended for very experienced ski tourers, practicing a minimum of 2-3 weeks of ski touring per year.

If you don't have a car, you should know that we encourage car-pooling between participants by creating a whatsapp group 15 days before departure: an opportunity to get to know each other before you even start your expedition!

  • If the minimum number of participants is reached, departure is confirmed!
  • If the minimum number of participants is not reached, we will give you a full refund.
Departure is confirmed 15 days in advance for adventures lasting more than 4 days. Departure is confirmed 7 days prior for adventures lasting less than 4 days.

How comfortable is the Mountain hut?

You'll stay at the Grands Mulets Mountain hut, perched at 3057 m, renowned for its warm atmosphere and hearty meals. You'll sleep in comfortable dormitories, in single beds with blankets and pillows provided, and with uninterrupted views of the glaciers.

Will there be showers in the Mountain hut?

No, there are no showers at the Grands Mulets Mountain hut: welcome to the great outdoors!

What do I do if I need to hire my ski touring equipment?

Don't worry if you're not equipped. We can hire you a complete ski touring kit (skis, boots, poles, crampons, knives and skins) as an optional extra when you book.

How big is the group?

For this expedition, we are limiting ourselves to a maximum of 2 people and 1 guide for the ascent of the Roof of Europe, Mont Blanc, at 4806m, to ensure your safety. If you have a group of >2 people, contact us, and we'll see if we can find a second guide.

Are instalment payment options available?

Yes, that's right! At checkout, you can choose the Alma option to pay for your booking in 2x, 3x or 4x. All you have to do is select Alma at checkout and follow the instructions. It's simple, fast and secure.

Can I privatise this expedition for my group?

Yes, all our expeditions can be privatised for a group already formed, on the dates of your choice.

To make your request, go to the expedition that interests you and click on "Privatise the expedition". We'll take care of the rest!

What happens if the weather is bad?

At Wildhartt, nature is our playground, rain or shine. Rain, snow or wind: our guides adapt the itinerary, activities and accommodation to guarantee you the best possible experience.
Unless safety is at stake (storm, avalanche, flood...).


In this exceptional case, we can cancel an expedition, at least one week before departure.
If this happens:

What kind of people usually join Wildhartt expeditions ?

You don’t need to be a top athlete or adventure expert to feel at home. Most Wildhartt participants are between 25 and 60 years old, with a balanced mix of women and men.


Many join solo or in small groups of two or three. They often live in cities and are looking for a meaningful brea some time to reconnect with nature, slow down, and enjoy something real.


They usually have a regular movement practice (hiking, running, yoga...), but not with a competitive mindset. They’re in good shape, but don’t necessarily have technical skills. What brings them together is a shared desire to disconnect, observe, learn, and experience nature in a more grounded, accessible way.
