Hi, I'm August, and I've been guiding in the far north of Norway for over 8 years. Skiing in front of the sea, under the northern lights, or simply enjoying nature, that's what makes me tick. Guiding is above all about sharing my passion and helping you discover places that are close to my heart, in a safe environment. Experiencing exceptional moments in the great outdoors is my raison d'être, and that's what I promise you when I accompany you.

⚠️ For this expedition, August may be replaced by another equally experienced guide, depending on availability. All our guides speak English, and many of them also speak French, to ensure you have an equally rewarding experience.

Included

Supervision by an IFMGA mountain guide for 6 days of ski touring.
Accommodation: 5 nights in the traditional charm of a Norwegian chalet.
Two nights' accommodation in a hotel in Tromsø: on arrival and one night before departure.
Transfers by van and/or boat between our accommodation and our different ski spots.

Not included

The return journey to the meeting point.
Your personal ski touring equipment: ski touring skis, boots, poles, avalanche transceiver kit, knives - available for hire.
Transport from the airport/station to the meeting point at the hotel: 30 minutes by bus or 10 minutes by taxi.

What level should you expect

Level 3
You should be at least 18 years old to participate
The expedition requires the appropriate level to ensure group safety and a quality experience, with level verification possible by the guide. If the level is insufficient, access may be refused without alternative or refund.

  • You are able to climb 1,000 m of vertical drop on easy terrain in less than 4 hours, for 6 consecutive days.
  • You're comfortable on all black runs and off-piste, you can ski down a variety of slopes and bypass technical sections if necessary.
  • You enjoy a regular sporting activity (at least once a week) and can put in several hours of effort outdoors, even in demanding conditions.
  • You're ready to work in a group, adapt to changing conditions and set off to discover the great wilderness of the Far North.

How comfortable is our typical home?

Welcome to our cosy log cabin in Målselv, a Norwegian gem in the heart of the wilderness. Surrounded by pine forest and a stone's throw from a husky farm, this traditional cabin exudes history and authenticity. It's the perfect place for a peaceful break from the hustle and bustle, where you can relax in your own private sauna after a day's adventure. Its location is ideal for exploring the wonders of the region, and inside you'll find all the comforts you need: a bright living area with open-plan kitchen and three cosy bedrooms, perfect for recharging your batteries.

What ski equipment should I bring?

As soon as your registration is finalised, you'll receive a full list of what you need to bring with you. In the meantime, here's what you'll need to be ready to hit the slopes: Your touring skis with suitable bindings Skins Poles Ski touring boots avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe Helmet Technical clothing (breathable layers, waterproof jacket, ski trousers) Gloves, hat, mask or sunglasses Rucksack (30-40L) with ski rack Water bottle or thermos And of course, sun cream and lip balm to keep out the cold! Equipment and touring skis can be hired when you make your reservation.

Do I need a visa to travel to Norway?

As a French, Belgian, Swiss or Luxembourg citizen, you do not need a visa to travel to Norway. You can enter and stay in Norway with a valid identity card or passport. Norway is part of the Schengen area, which allows free movement of people between member countries.

What's the weather like in March and April in Lyngen?

Get ready for a real Nordic winter! Temperatures range from -10°C to 5°C, with snow and occasional sunshine (perfect for admiring the scenery). The climate can change quickly, so make sure you wear mountain clothing that's wind- and moisture-resistant. And don't forget, the fjords often offer milder conditions than the peaks!

Where is our accommodation located?

Our accommodation is in Målselv, in the heart of the magnificent Øvre Dividal National Park. This unique location is a charming husky farm, offering a unique and authentic experience in the midst of the Norwegian wilderness. With its strategic location between Senja, Tromsø and Tamokdalen, it's an ideal base from which to explore the region's wonders.

How will the shuttle service between the accommodation and the ski areas work?

Travel between our accommodation and the various ski areas will be organised by comfortable mini-bus, specially dedicated to the group. On certain days, particularly on the island of Kågen or in the remote fjords, we can also use a speedboat to reach areas that are inaccessible by road. This option, which adds a dimension of adventure and exclusivity to your stay, will be organised according to the conditions and the group's preferences, at an additional cost if chosen. Thanks to these logistics, we maximise your time on skis and minimise travel, while guaranteeing privileged access to the region's most spectacular scenery.

Can I hire equipment on site?

Of course you can! You can easily hire the equipment you need directly when you book on our website. We work with the best ski rental shops in Tromsø. Your guide will collect your equipment so that it's ready when you arrive. That said, if you have your own equipment, it's always better: it will already fit you perfectly, and you'll feel more comfortable on the slopes.

What happens if I have to cancel my expedition to Lapland?

We strongly recommend that you take out individual cancellation insurance. If you wish to cancel your participation in an expedition in Lapland, simply send us an email. As soon as we receive your cancellation email, we will apply cancellation charges according to the date on which the cancellation is made: Cancellation charges: - More than 10 weeks before departure: the deposit is non-refundable. - Between 31 days and 10 weeks before departure: 75% of the total amount will be retained. - Between 0 and 30 days before departure: 100% of the total amount will be retained. That said, at Wildhartt we always do our best to find a replacement. If we are successful, we will refund the full amount.

What is the guide/participant ratio?

There will be a maximum of 7 participants, accompanied by an experienced skipper and a bilingual (French/English) UIAGM/IFMGA guide. In rare cases, the French-speaking guide may be replaced by an English-speaking guide. Don't worry, though, as this will in no way affect the quality of supervision. This configuration is perfect for guaranteeing personalised guidance, optimum safety and the ability to adapt to each person's level and wishes. All in a friendly, almost 'family' atmosphere. You'll feel right at home, but in the middle of a Nordic adventure!

Are instalment payment options available?

Yes, that's right! At checkout, you can choose the Alma option to pay for your booking in 2x, 3x or 4x. All you have to do is select Alma at checkout and follow the instructions. It's simple, fast and secure.

Can I privatise this expedition for my group?

Yes, all our expeditions can be privatised for a group already formed, on the dates of your choice.

To make your request, go to the expedition that interests you and click on "Privatise the expedition". We'll take care of the rest!

What happens if the weather is bad?

At Wildhartt, nature is our playground, rain or shine. Rain, snow or wind: our guides adapt the itinerary, activities and accommodation to guarantee you the best possible experience.
Unless safety is at stake (storm, avalanche, flood...).


In this exceptional case, we can cancel an expedition, at least one week before departure.
If this happens:

→ Or receive a full refund.


What kind of people usually join Wildhartt expeditions ?

You don’t need to be a top athlete or adventure expert to feel at home. Most Wildhartt participants are between 25 and 60 years old, with a balanced mix of women and men.


Many join solo or in small groups of two or three. They often live in cities and are looking for a meaningful brea some time to reconnect with nature, slow down, and enjoy something real.


They usually have a regular movement practice (hiking, running, yoga...), but not with a competitive mindset. They’re in good shape, but don’t necessarily have technical skills. What brings them together is a shared desire to disconnect, observe, learn, and experience nature in a more grounded, accessible way.


If that speaks to you, you'll feel right at home. The group spirit is kind and open, and the pace adapts to everyone.

What does the price of a Wildhartt adventure include?

  • 35% for accommodation and meals, essential for your comfort.
  • 10% for equipment and transport, to guarantee safety and fluidity.
  • 25% for organisation and logistics, from first contact to the end of the expedition.
  • 1% for the rewilding of Europe, a concrete commitment to give back to nature what it gives us.
