Progress as a roped party in a small group of no more than 4 people, learning about belays, roped walking and rock handling with attentive, precise guiding.

We meet at 8am at the Font-Romeu resort. The morning begins with an introductory session with the guide and the rest of the group, including an explanation of the programme, equipment checks and a reminder of the basics of safety.

This first day is devoted to a gradual discovery of mountaineering on the heights of Cambre d'Aze. We'll be on an easy rocky ridge, ideal for learning the basics: roping up, using your hands to make progress, managing your balance on the rock.

On a clear day, you'll be able to see the Mediterranean Sea in the distance. The pace is adapted to the group, with regular breaks to learn and gain confidence. If necessary, the guide can suggest an easier route or shorten the outing so that everyone can move forward calmly.

At the end of the afternoon, we return to the valley and settle into a comfortable gîte or guest house. In the evening, we share a delicious home-cooked meal, prepared with care, in a convivial atmosphere.

After breakfast, we head off towards the Ariège to reach the Dent d'Orlu, one of the Pyrenees' most emblematic sites for mountain climbing.

The day is devoted to a route of several pitches, perfectly suited to a first experience on a major route. The guide will take you step by step: installing the ropes, learning the belays and progressing as a roped party. The aim is to learn in a safe environment and to become more comfortable with each pitch.

The rock is renowned for its quality, making climbing enjoyable and accessible. It's not unusual to spot marmots, isards and mouflons on the way up. The environment is unspoilt and typical of the Ariège Pyrenees.

Depending on the group and the conditions, the guide may choose a more gradual route or adapt the length of the itinerary. At the end of the day, return to the gîte for a hot shower and a home-cooked dinner shared by all.
DAY 3 / 3

On this final day, we head for Andorra to climb a beautiful granite spur overlooking several high-altitude lakes.

This climb is an opportunity to consolidate what you've learnt on previous days in an accessible alpine environment. You'll be roped up, always accompanied by the guide, with particular attention paid to safety and teaching.

The panoramic views of the Pyrenean lakes provide a wonderful conclusion to the trip. Depending on the energy of the group, it may be possible to extend the route slightly or opt for a shorter version. Return to the gîte in the afternoon and end of the tour.

FrenchFrench

Born in Perpignan in 1979 and raised between Cerdagne and Capcir, I caught the mountain bug early on: skiing, climbing and then ski touring. After a spell in engineering, I left it all behind and moved to Chamonix to become a mountain guide and ski instructor. Since 2009, I've been back in the Pyrenees, where I'm delighted to share my passion and safety with you.

What kind of people usually join Wildhartt expeditions ?

You don’t need to be a top athlete or adventure expert to feel at home. Most Wildhartt participants are between 25 and 60 years old, with a balanced mix of women and men.

Many join solo or in small groups of two or three. They often live in cities and are looking for a meaningful brea some time to reconnect with nature, slow down, and enjoy something real.

They usually have a regular movement practice (hiking, running, yoga...), but not with a competitive mindset. They’re in good shape, but don’t necessarily have technical skills. What brings them together is a shared desire to disconnect, observe, learn, and experience nature in a more grounded, accessible way.

If that speaks to you, you'll feel right at home. The group spirit is kind and open, and the pace adapts to everyone.

What does the price of a Wildhartt adventure include?

At Wildhartt, transparency is essential. The price of your expedition reflects a clear breakdown of costs:

  • 30% for our guides, the mainstays of every adventure.
  • 35% for accommodation and meals, essential for your comfort.
  • 10% for equipment and transport, to guarantee safety and fluidity.
  • 25% for organisation and logistics, from first contact to the end of the expedition.
  • 1% for the rewilding of Europe, a concrete commitment to give back to nature what it gives us.

Our priority: to offer you a quality experience, with complete clarity.
