We’ll meet at 10 am in Cervinia to meet the group and the guide. After a briefing and a check of our kit, we’ll take the cable cars, which will take us up to an altitude of nearly 3,800 metres, in the heart of the Matterhorn Paradise glacier area.
Once there, we set off to climb the Breithorn (4,164 m), one of the most accessible 4,000-metre peaks in the Alps. The panoramic views are exceptional, with unobstructed views of the Matterhorn, Monte Rosa and the main peaks of Valais.
We then begin a superb descent across the glacier towards the Verra Glacier, passing beneath the impressive silhouettes of Pollux and Castor. A short climb takes us to the Guides d’Ayas mountain hut (3,420 m), where we spend our first night in the high mountains.
