We'll meet in the morning in Névache to set off on our four-day getaway; we'll get to know each other and check the contents of our rucksacks. We'll hand out the snowshoes and give a quick demonstration of the essential equipment (avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe) so that everyone is familiar with their gear.
We'll take a group photo to mark the start, then set off on the expedition with a gentle climb towards the Mountain hut, situated downstream in the valley – the perfect terrain to get our legs going.
Once there, we'll run practical workshops on searching for avalanche victims: AVS localisation, probing and organising a team rescue, all practised in real-world conditions.
An evening at the mountain hut with a warm welcome from Meije, a hearty hot meal and a briefing for the following day.
