We meet at Pont de Lariane in the hamlet of Fontgillarde at 9.30am. From the hamlet of Fontgillarde, we'll head gently up the Aigue Agnelle valley towards the Mountain hut, nestling at the foot of the Pain de Sucre. This first day gives us a chance to acclimatise gently and check our equipment. Alpine ambience and a warm welcome at the Mountain hut.
We pass the Col de Chamoussière (2884 m) and continue to the Pic de Caramantran (3025 m), offering uninterrupted views of the Piedmont. The descent to Chianale is long and varied, as far as the small village. A short transfer (5min) takes us to Castello, from where we begin the ascent to the Mountain hut at Bagnour, through a magnificent forest of stone pines.
We climb up the wild Giargiatte valley to the San Chiaffredo pass (2762 m), in a high mountain atmosphere. The first descent takes us to the Gallarino pass, then to the Quintino Sella mountain hut, which we leave on our left. We continue downhill to the village of Pian Melze, where we spend the night in a hostel.
Climb to Punta Sea Bianca (2721 m), which dominates the entire Val Pellice. From the summit, a superb descent awaits us to the Pautas bridge (1019 m). Transfer by vehicle to Villar Pellice (5min) for the night in a comfortable hotel.
We reach Villanova by car (5 mins), before skiing back up to the Mountain hut Jervis, in a more forested setting. After dropping off our bags, we set off lightly to climb Punta Barant (2261 m), a discreet lookout point over the Occitan valleys. Back to the Mountain hut for the night.
Last day of the traverse. We climb to the Col Lacroix (2299 m), the gateway to the Queyras, before continuing to the Pointe Praroussin (2675 m) for a final panoramic view of the Southern Alps. A beautiful descent takes us back to L'Echalp (45 min). Return by vehicle to the Lariane bridge, where we complete this magnificent tour of the Viso.
Hi, I'm Patrick, a mountain guide from the Piedmont region. I became a mountain guide in 2018 and since then I've never left the peaks! As a mountain rescue instructor, I love sharing my experience and knowledge. Whether in Monte Rosa, my native Piedmont or Valle d'Aosta, the Italian Alps are my playground and my home.
With 30 years' experience as a mountain guide, I'll be sharing my techniques with you, but above all, my pleasure in experiencing nature to the full. Together, we'll explore my vision of the mountains: fabulous landscapes, dreamy peaks, new cultures, and maybe... the summit of your dreams!
I look forward to seeing you, whether you're on skis, climbing shoes, crampons or simply hiking boots.
Free parking is available close to the meeting point, so you can leave your car during your stay.
If you don't own a car, don't worry: we encourage car-pooling between participants! A WhatsApp group will be set up 7 to 10 days before departure to make organising your trip easier. It's a great opportunity to get to know each other before the adventure even begins!

If this happens:

You don’t need to be a top athlete or mountain expert to feel at home. Most Wildhartt participants are between 25 and 60 years old, with a balanced mix of women and men.
Many join solo or in small groups of two or three. They often live in cities and are looking for a meaningful brea some time to reconnect with nature, slow down, and enjoy something real.
They usually have a regular movement practice (hiking, running, yoga...), but not with a competitive mindset. They’re in good shape, but don’t necessarily have technical skills. What brings them together is a shared desire to disconnect, observe, learn, and experience nature in a more grounded, accessible way.
If that speaks to you, you'll feel right at home. The group spirit is kind and open, and the pace adapts to everyone.
