Itinerary

    • Accommodation - InnAccommodation·Inn
    • D- - 600D-·600m
    • D+ - 650D+·650m
    • Distance - 18Distance·18km

We’ll meet at 11 am at the Bouillon inn. After getting to know each other and hearing the guide’s introduction to the itinerary, we’ll set off from the inn and gradually make our way into the wild landscapes of the Semois. To start with, we’ll follow the river along a gentle route, ideal for finding our feet, enjoying the scenery and letting our legs warm up.

Then comes the first real challenge of the route: a lovely climb up to Le Saty. The terrain will become more demanding, your legs will start to feel the burn, and once we reach the top we’ll take some time to catch our breath and have a bite to eat in the heart of the forest.

We’ll then head back along the trails around Bouillon before enjoying some free time in town. At the end of the day, the guide will take the time to go over the basics of trail running with you and answer any questions you may have to help you improve.

The day will end with a shared meal at the inn and a well-deserved night’s sleep before tackling the next day’s activities.

Frequently asked questions

What equipment should I bring?

As for kit, it’s best to pack a small trail running rucksack suitable for a half-day or full-day outing, a water bottle or a 2-litre hydration pack, as well as warm, technical running clothing. Also remember to pack a pair of running shoes, a buff, gloves and a hat to protect yourself from the cold. A waterproof windbreaker is highly recommended, and if you have any walking poles, don’t hesitate to take them with you!

Do I need to have done any trail running before?

No, you don’t need to have any previous experience of trail running. However, regular running (1–2 days a week) is recommended to get the most out of your stay.

How do I get on at night, and do I sleep alone?

You’ll be staying in a shared dormitory at the Bouillon hostel with the other participants.

What learning outcomes will be emphasised?

Throughout the trip, you’ll learn how to improve your running technique on both uphill and downhill sections, adopt the correct posture and place your feet effectively on trails. You’ll also discover how to make the best use of your poles, manage your nutrition and hydration whilst running, and learn about the importance of strength training for improving your trail running and preventing injuries.

Are instalment payment options available?

Yes, that's right! At checkout, you can choose the Alma option to pay for your booking in 2x, 3x or 4x. All you have to do is select Alma at checkout and follow the instructions. It's simple, fast and secure.

Can I privatise this expedition for my group?

Yes, all our expeditions can be privatised for a group already formed, on the dates of your choice.

To make your request, go to the expedition that interests you and click on "Privatise the expedition". We'll take care of the rest!

What kind of people usually join Wildhartt expeditions ?

You don’t need to be a top athlete or adventure expert to feel at home. Most Wildhartt participants are between 25 and 60 years old, with a balanced mix of women and men.

Many join solo or in small groups of two or three. They often live in cities and are looking for a meaningful break — some time to reconnect with nature, slow down, and enjoy something real.

They usually have a regular movement practice (hiking, running, yoga...), but not with a competitive mindset. They’re in good shape, but don’t necessarily have technical skills. What brings them together is a shared desire to disconnect, observe, learn, and experience nature in a more grounded, accessible way.

If that speaks to you, you'll feel right at home. The group spirit is kind and open, and the pace adapts to everyone.

What happens if the weather is bad?

At Wildhartt, nature is our playground, rain or shine. Rain, snow or wind: our guides adapt the itinerary, activities and accommodation to guarantee you the best possible experience.
Unless safety is at stake (storm, avalanche, flood...).

In this exceptional case, we can cancel an expedition, at least one week before departure.
If this happens:
→ You can postpone your adventure at no cost,
→ Or receive a full refund.

What does the price of a Wildhartt adventure include?

At Wildhartt, transparency is essential. The price of your expedition reflects a clear breakdown of costs:

  • 30% for our guides, the mainstays of every adventure.
  • 35% for accommodation and meals, essential for your comfort.
  • 10% for equipment and transport, to guarantee safety and fluidity.
  • 24% for organisation and logistics, from first contact to the end of the expedition.
  • 1% for the rewilding of Europe, a concrete commitment to give back to nature what it gives us.

Our priority: to offer you a quality experience, with complete clarity.
