Hi, I'm August, and I've been guiding in the far north of Norway for over 8 years. Skiing in front of the sea, under the northern lights, or simply enjoying nature, that's what makes me tick. Guiding is above all about sharing my passion and helping you discover places that are close to my heart, in a safe environment. Experiencing exceptional moments in the great outdoors is my raison d'être, and that's what I promise you when I accompany you.

⚠️ For this expedition, August may be replaced by another equally experienced guide, depending on availability. All our guides speak English, and many of them also speak French, to ensure you have an equally rewarding experience.

The train is still our favourite way to set off on an adventure.

But some of the more remote areas require other means of transport.

Frequently asked questions

Can I book on my own or do I need to form a group?

Yes, you can book on your own. Our holidays are open to individual bookings. You'll be joining a small group (4 people maximum), perfect for making progress, bonding and enjoying an authentic alpine experience. If you're already part of a group, we can also book a private date for you.

Is equipment (avalanche transceivers, ski touring equipment, boots, etc.) available for hire from Wildhartt?

You can hire the equipment directly when you book on our website, as we work with reliable local specialist shops. You will then need to collect the equipment from our partner before meeting up with the group. Your harness, crampons and ice axe are included in the price.

Do I need to pack snacks or meals for certain days?

Meals (breakfast, picnic and dinner) are included and provided in the Mountain huts and accommodation. However, we recommend that you take a few energy snacks (cereal bars, dried fruit, chocolate, etc.) with you for breaks or when you're feeling sluggish. Your guide will also be able to give you tips to suit your pace and needs.

How do you prepare physically for the expedition?

Good physical condition is essential if you are to enjoy this adventure to the full. For six days, you'll be doing a series of stages with gradients of between 800 and 1300 metres, which requires stamina and good effort management over time. Ideally, you should start training one or two months before the start. If you can, go out regularly on ski touring, but you can also alternate with hiking in the mountains with a rucksack to get your body used to carrying it. Complement this with a bit of muscle strengthening, particularly in the legs and sheathing, and add a cardio activity such as cycling, running or brisk walking to work on your breathing. The aim is to get you comfortable over several consecutive days. If you have any doubts about your level or how to prepare, don't hesitate to contact us: we're here to help you set off in the best possible conditions.

Is there an equipment check on departure?

Yes, during the briefing on day 1, the guide checks that each participant is properly equipped and that the equipment is functional (avalanche transceiver, crampons, well-fitting rucksack, etc.) This is also the time to adjust the settings and discuss any questions with the guide. This check ensures that you set off safely and with peace of mind.

I've never used crampons or a harness, is that a problem?

Experience is preferable, but it doesn't matter if you don't have any. The use of crampons and harness is punctual and guided by your UIAGM guide. Before any use, he'll explain how to put them on, walk with them and use them safely. You don't need any previous experience, but you do need to be comfortable with the idea of working on alpine terrain, even if it's technical.

Is there a complete, detailed list of the equipment you need to take with you?

Yes, a detailed equipment list is sent to you after booking, with our advice on each item: rucksack, technical clothing, sun protection, things for the Mountain hut, etc. We help you to sort out the essentials from the superfluous so that you don't carry too much and are still well prepared.

Are instalment payment options available?

Yes, that's right! At checkout, you can choose the Alma option to pay for your booking in 2x, 3x or 4x. All you have to do is select Alma at checkout and follow the instructions. It's simple, fast and secure.

Can I privatise this expedition for my group?

Yes, all our expeditions can be privatised for a group already formed, on the dates of your choice.

To make your request, go to the expedition that interests you and click on "Privatise the expedition". We'll take care of the rest!

What happens if the weather is bad?

At Wildhartt, nature is our playground, rain or shine. Rain, snow or wind: our guides adapt the itinerary, activities and accommodation to guarantee you the best possible experience.
Unless safety is at stake (storm, avalanche, flood...).

In this exceptional case, we can cancel an expedition, at least one week before departure.
If this happens:
→ You can postpone your adventure at no cost,
→ Or receive a full refund.

What kind of people usually join Wildhartt expeditions ?

You don’t need to be a top athlete or adventure expert to feel at home. Most Wildhartt participants are between 25 and 60 years old, with a balanced mix of women and men.

Many join solo or in small groups of two or three. They often live in cities and are looking for a meaningful brea some time to reconnect with nature, slow down, and enjoy something real.

They usually have a regular movement practice (hiking, running, yoga...), but not with a competitive mindset. They’re in good shape, but don’t necessarily have technical skills. What brings them together is a shared desire to disconnect, observe, learn, and experience nature in a more grounded, accessible way.

If that speaks to you, you'll feel right at home. The group spirit is kind and open, and the pace adapts to everyone.

What does the price of a Wildhartt adventure include?

At Wildhartt, transparency is essential. The price of your expedition reflects a clear breakdown of costs:

  • 30% for our guides, the mainstays of every adventure.
  • 35% for accommodation and meals, essential for your comfort.
  • 10% for equipment and transport, to guarantee safety and fluidity.
  • 25% for organisation and logistics, from first contact to the end of the expedition.
  • 1% for the rewilding of Europe, a concrete commitment to give back to nature what it gives us.

Our priority: to offer you a quality experience, with complete clarity.
