Keen to step up in the high mountains without going it alone? This guided mountaineering collection brings together 3 to 5 day routes in France and Italy, from Grand Paradiso to the Mont Rose range, from the Ecrins to Chamonix. You will live the rhythm of the rope team, the approach hike, a night in a welcoming hut, the start before dawn by headlamp and the joy of a summit at sunrise.
Each trip focuses on hands on learning and active safety. Expect snow and ice school, roped glacier travel, crampon techniques, ice axe use, ridge progression and simple belays, all coached by an IFMGA mountain guide who adjusts the plan to conditions, fine tunes your movement on the go and debriefs each evening. Technical gear can be rented on site so you set off light and confident. That is the spirit of guided mountaineering, dedicated to clear progress and good decisions.
As for objectives, aim for a first 4000 with the three day ascent of Grand Paradiso, traverse the Domes de Miage via the Conscrits hut, or explore the high mountains of the Ecrins to Roche Faurio. On Mont Rose, link two 4000s including Pyramide Vincent and Ludwigshohe over three days, or take on the Spaghetti Tour in four days with a night at Margherita Hut above 4500 metres. Other made to measure formats include a first ridge route in Chamonix, a three day trek across the Aiguilles Rouges before climbing Tete Blanche, and the Ruitor glacier crossing with a night in a perched hut facing Mont Blanc. Je suis vraiment ravie d'avoir choisi Wildhartt et d'avoir eu Titouan comme guide. Notre groupe était très sympathique et on partageait tous les mêmes idées, tandis que Marie, de Wildhartt, a veillé à ce que le voyage se déroule sans accroc. Titouan s'est montré merveilleusement à l'écoute, extrêmement compétent pour un guide de son âge, et a su adapter le rythme pour que tout le monde puisse suivre. Première expérience en Alpinisme et Titouan a été fabuleux. Ils nous as initié aux rudiments de la marche sur la glacier avec plusieurs exercices pratique, puis l’ascension vraiment incroyable . Augustin était un guide formidable. Même si mon français n'est pas très bon, je me suis toujours sentie intégrée au groupe, et toutes les informations techniques m'ont été présentées clairement, accompagnées de démonstrations très claires. Mais surtout, il était incroyablement sympathique et tout le groupe était adorable. Je n'oublierai jamais cette expérience.
These trips suit hikers in good shape who can handle 6 to 10 hours on the move and 800 to 1500 metres of ascent, and who are comfortable with altitude and cold. Prior crampon experience helps, though you can gain that on the introductory formats, while ridge days call for some ease on rock.
