From Alps to islands, our best small group expeditions for early summer
Every expedition is led by qualified, passionate guides trained for safety in the wild.
Human-sized groups for a genuine adventure, far from mass tourism.
We explore the most beautiful wild spaces while respecting ecosystems and local communities.
In June the days stretch out, trails dry and the sea warms. It is the sweet spot for guided adventure trips in June in small groups. From the wild Valgaudemar and the Écrins with a trek and bivouac under the stars, to crest walks in the Vosges and the iconic Kungsleden in Swedish Lapland, our itineraries take you where early summer shines. Prefer a roaming feel with lakes and glaciers in sight? Think Plateau d’Emparis facing La Meije or a four day circuit around the Aiguilles d’Arves, and sleep in refuges or tents close to the peaks.
Dreaming of high alpine objectives? Go for a first 4000 with the Grand Paradiso in Italy or the Breithorn from Zermatt, link summits on the Mont Rose Spaghetti Tour, traverse glaciers on the Haute Route between Chamonix and Zermatt, or cross the mighty Aletsch. Runners can sharpen technique on trail camps in Chamonix, the Vosges, the Vercors, on the Ventoux, in Auvergne or around Gavarnie. If salt and spray call your name, learn to sail in South Brittany, the Zeeland estuaries, around Corsica or across the Balearic coves, or cast off in Greece. On the water, drift by canoe with riverside bivouacs on the Dordogne or paddle sea kayaks through Stockholm’s outer archipelago. For softer exploration try packrafting in Belgium, Slovenia or Scotland’s Highlands, and roll gravel through Tuscany’s sacred forests.
Wildlife lovers can track wolves in the Vercors and the Écrins, look for signs of brown bear in the Pyrenees or follow beaver trails by river at sunset. Seeking balance and calm, our hiking and yoga retreats in the Ardennes and in the Italian Apennines are designed to reset. Beginner to expert, one to ten days, bivouac, refuges or cosy gites, every trip is led by local pros, with technical gear rental on many departures and rail access often possible. June fills fast, so secure your guided adventure trips in June early for the best choice.
